I like to use BLAM!. It is written with the mono APIs and has some solid features. Straw is another free application that does the same thing execpt it is written in plain old C instead of C#.
Hehe, yeah I was expecting to get modded down, and I was supprised to see that somebody found it "interesting". By the way, I'm listening to Peter Frapton -- "Do You Feel Like We Do?", (the live version) right now. It's amazing. It's at that part were he's using the "talking guitar" effect. It's so cool, because everytime he says something through the guitar, the crowd goes wild. That's some great music right there. You should download it or something.
Yes, i understand. In case you're unaccustomed to the customs around here, it is standard to ask this question of any audio-related electronics announced. It's aslo norrmale too misssspell thangs and not usee teh spelll chek and usee teh bad grammerss.
I'm using gentoo primarily, and I have a box running Fedora Core 2. Bluecurve is nice, but it still can't hold a candle to Mac OS X or Longhorn (from the screenshots I've seen). With SVG now implemented in GNOME, it would be my guess that there will eventually be a big wave of pretty vector-based icon sets and themes. I sure hope we will be able to compete against the big guys (Microsoft) though.
Sounds fine to me. Actuallly, now that you mention it, I want it in GNOME. We really should spend more time making eye-candy and such because as it is, the typical Linux desktop looks plain-as-can-be when compared to Mac and Windows.
Yes. Sun has done some very productive usability studies that have directly affected GNOME. That is why GNOME is the usibility masterpiece that you see today. Check out a few of the studies here.
Nobody cares what you think. Stop trying to re-ignite old flaimwars. It's totally counter productive. Haven't you heard of constructive critisism? It's all the rage these days.
I got accepted to Georga Tech, but I think I'm going to go to the University of Michigan instead. (I'm a high school senior making a decition.) U of M is closer to my house (I live about 15 minutes from it, so I wouldn't have to move or pay out of state tuition) Should I consider Georgia Tech?
ALSA supports most mainstream soundcards, and (as I'm sure most of you are aware of) it's integrated into the kernel as of 2.6. Linux's sound support is getting much better than where it used to be (OSS). It would really help if the card manufacturers would help us out though (ie. It would be nice if Creative handed us an opensource EAX). Microsoft has it easy because the manufacturers produce Windows drivers with each sound card.
Sorry, someone had to say it

KDE 3.2.2 Released
·
· Score: 0, Flamebait
Disclaimer: This is not intended to be a flame, but it may piss off some of the "K" zealots. If you don't like it, don't read it.
Does anyone else ever notice how arrogant the KDE announcements are? They make statements like this: "The KDE Project today announced the immediate availability of KDE 3.2.2, a maintenance release for the latest generation of the most advanced and powerful free desktop for GNU/Linux and other UNIXes."
Now, I really wouldn't care, but it might misslead some users. It sounds as if there are no decent alternatives. Apple got slammed for making similar claims about their G5, why isn't it such a big deal in the open source world.
I don't know, maybe I am being too picky
Another disclaimer: I like and use both GNOME and KDE, so I am not biased about this issue.
Send a message to that dimwit miguel that he's no longer welcome in th Linux world.
I'm sure that would terrify him.
I agree, and I'm only 17.
Well of coarse he's going to say that, he's Steve Ballmer.

Monorail... Monorail....... Monorail!!!!
If you don't like anime, just turn off the anime stories in your slashdot preferences.

does it play ogg?
2 cents from a drunken geek in WI.
:)
Hehe. I can tell.

Yeah, what a dick.

I'm sorry. I didn't mean to invoke any flames, but apparantly I did :(. Sorry.
Yes, it has been in vanilla GNOME for a while. You can even switch users in a nested window. It's under System Tools if you want to take a look.
an interface that user's will find more easy to use and adapt.
That's exactly what GNOME is.
Well, I'm going to live in the dorm at least.

Sorry man. I've read this post before. I just call 'em as I see 'em.
