Cox San Diego has been limiting us to 1gig daily. I believe it's up AND down traffic which sucks ass. 1.5gig down would be more reasonable so I can download 3 isos
Maybe something like comparator, a utility ESR released for analyzing the similarity of source codes? ESR gathering evidence from kernel hackers for use against SCO? Bruce Perens disassembling piece by piece SCO's Las Vegas slidshow? Both of them debunking SCO's claims w/ facts and working on this on their own time? Would you like some links?
"he wants a GNU system with the Linux kernel called GNU/Linux."
As I said before, just words, that's all. It doesn't matter what it's called as long it's released under the GPL, people use the code and contribute back to it. He has done a lot in the past but now he just talks and Perens and ESR seem to see a problem w/ SCO and are actually doing something about it instead of bitching about GNU/Linux vs Linux.
RMS is all talk and no walk. Take a look at what ESR and Perens have been doing to combat SCO. Then you see comments where all he does is worry about Linux being identified as GNU. Reminds of the zealots who have to pronounce GNU (guhnew" and Gnome similary and always have to say GNU/Linux not just Linux. Who cares?! It's just words.
Here's Stallman's comments: ""I am concerned about long-term entrenched confusions such as referring to a version of our GNU OS as 'Linux' and thinking that our work on free software was motivated by the ideas associated with 'open source.' These confusions lead users away from the basic issue: their freedom. By comparison, the events involving SCO are transitory and almost trivial," Stallman says".
He mentions towards the end how happy he is w/ Libranet since nothing in Libranet is proprietary code. As far as I know their (wonderful) XAdminMenu utility is NOT released under the GPL.
I have that exact case/mobo running OpenBSD 3.4 as my home firewall and it's much louder than you would think. The source of the noise is the power supply. Just as loud if not louder than the Enermax 330w on my Athlon system.
The only difference I can find is that I have a Via 933mhz compared to the 1ghz on the Mirra. I had to strip the mounting bracket off of the 3Com NIC I added and secure it w/ double sided tape since it just wouldn't fit otherwise.
Other than that, it's a pretty good investment for me ocnsidering it was $160 at Fry's sans memory and hard drive. Very reliable, doesn't take up much space. Just noisy. Maybe I could find another quieter power supply?
pass a law to fix it. California never ceases to amaze me. How aobut the law that keeps you from giving a gun to a sibling? You're allowed to give a gun to children/parents but not siblings?
Wow, a pathetic troll. Seems to me like a large part of the past 40 years had Israel fighting for its very existence against the Arab states you claim the US and Israel are bent on destroying.
Also, where was the hate mentioned?
All of this free publicity? Yeah, that's worth that little ticket. Listen carefully and you can hear Slashdotters (too cheap to subscribe to ANY website) hustling to their favorite file sharing app for pics and videos of this chick.
I know because we can smell our own:)
Bullshit. Finder crashes daily on me browsing my Samba network under 10.3 which is fully updates.
Did you think I made this up? There's a thread going on about Macs over at OSnews and many people are having the same problem I have. Just because you haven't experienced it doesn't mean it doesn't happen.
Finall, a capable browser for Samba networks for Macs! Finder crashes and just plain doesn't work for me browsing Windows networks from my Powerbook running Panther. Whereas typing smb:/// in Konqueror just works like Apple claims Finder does.

Well, at least this didn't turn into a flame war. Kind of surprising when a disagreement on /. doesn't turn into a flame war :)

Has XAdminmenu been released under any sort of license?
He mentions towards the end how happy he is w/ Libranet since nothing in Libranet is proprietary code. As far as I know their (wonderful) XAdminMenu utility is NOT released under the GPL.
Ummm, Libranet is made in Canada....
True dat. Thorry, thorry. Seen my journal entries about him?
There's a little Mandrake goodness in there too, Michael.
Are you asking if it's ready for Linux or real life yet? I couldn't tellyou since I run OpenBSd w/out X. Pretty cool you got a P4 out of it.
How about following up Japan's smashing success (in your eyes) and see what japan's economy is doing now?
Hmm, never noticed dropped packets. Out of my sloth and laziness, let me ask where did you look for this error message?

Notice I got modded down for my first post?
OK, that wasn't falmebait, the parent was. Apparently one of my enemies is modding tonight
Nice put, Doc Ruby. I bet you'll just love this anti-Israeli, anti-American piece of euro trash
Your post just proves trolls aren't doing much tonight.

Caffeine has been shown to be one of the best addictive sustances out there and is pretty mild in its side effects. Maybe you should just cut a _bit_.

I've never experienced your problems w/ Konq but have you tried Komba2? Really nice dedicated network browser.
