I most certainly could be wrong. It wouldn't surprise me a bit if the Ins. Co. makes deals with suppliers and / or makes policies in the hopes the homeowner will not follow all the fine line stipulations (statue of limitations, as you put it).

I guess the bottom line is for anyone who pays for home insurance to ensure their policy will pay out a cash value, how fast, and with what loopholes.

  9. Re:Did the cop got fired? on Supreme Court Hearing Case On Drug-Sniffing Dog "Fishing Expeditions" · · Score: 1

    Not tricky at all.

The only things you need to say to a cop are:

    Am I free to go?
    Am I being detained?
    Am I under arrest?
    I want a lawyer.
    I don't consent to searches.
    I don't give interviews.

And really only Am I free to go, and I want a lawyer.

Cop: Do you know why I pulled you over?
You: Am I free to go?
    Cop: Yes. LEAVE!
    or
    Cop: No.
    You: I want a lawyer.

    Simple.

Cop: Do you have any weapons or nuclear devices?
    You: Am I under arrest?
    Cop: Yes.
    You: I want a lawyer
    or
    Cop: No.
You: Am I free to go?
    Cop No.
    You: I want a lawyer.
    or
    Cop Yes.
    You: LEAVE!

Cops like to create small talk to establish particularized suspicion. They used to try and use the fact you refuse a search or interview as probable cause. That has been struck down over and over in the S.C. So now their training is to ask 3 seemingly innocent questions to get you rolling answers, and then hit you with a zinger to create suspicion.

    For example:
    Cop: Nice day out, huh?
    You: Yes Sir.
Cop: Nice car. Is it yours?
    You: Yes Sir.
    Cop: Get good mileage?
    You: Yes Sir.
Cop: Got any drugs or nuclear weapons in your car?
You: Um. (weird look) No. No Sir!
Cop: You don't mind my searching then, do you?
You: I don't consent to searches.

Some cops will push this situation as particularized suspicion. Because you were answering all Yeses, and without hesitation, and then all of a sudden ~changed~ your behavior, answers. And depending on the D.A. and Court, might just get away with it.

You're much better off establishing from the beginning that you are only going to provide papers if required, and only going to answer 'interviews' with a lawyer.

And by all means, RECORD the interaction. With your mind at a minimum.

If you aren't doing anything illegal, you have EVERYTHING to worry about!

Cops don't 'interview' legal people. Just ask them!

When you are in the presence of an officer, you are the only person in that situation that has any liability. The BEST case scenario is that nothing happens. Everything else will cost you. Inconvenience at a minimum. Torture at the worst. And death somewhere in between.

To be in the presence of someone who has no liability, who immediately demands that you be responsible for their emotional state by lethal force, is one of the most dangerous situations you could be in. Especially if you are legal.

It is the marketing, the gang like protection / intimidation, territorial warfare, theft, murder, etc. that the DOJ has a problem with, as well they should.

Anyone that says that a crack dealer should be allowed to murder and steal because it is part of having a successful product line, and the only reason they are able to make money while treating customers like shit, is because they have better crack, has obviously been smoking too much of the topic in general.

Have you played for real? Have you played Rock Band or GH?

I had taken lessons for a year. I loved it. I forced myself to practice every day. Once I got the dexterity, I had a hard time being able to learn songs, or play by ear.

These are the PERFECT learning tool. I would buy one if for no other purpose than to learn a new song. Learn the rhythm of it. Learn the changes, learn the strum / finger timing. In general get a good sense of the song and use that to drive my real playing.

I could practice till I could play perfectly 100% of the time by myself, but when I went to play with others, I'd freeze, get confused, overwhelmed, etc. Never could do much to get over that except keep on trying.

My son has taken to GH. I couldn't be more happy. I got him lessons and a real guitar, but he just didn't take to it. Was too much of a learning curve. But with GH, he as gained TONS of skills. He has rhythm now. He knows songs. He has learned more in a few hours of GH, then all the time spent on the real thing.

If I had the $$$$, I'd be buying these and donating them to anywhere kids are a captive audience.

Want to keep music alive? Want to keep music in schools? I can't think if a better way.... An EXTREMELY valid musical learning tool disguised as a video game. Brilliant!
