The record companies have argued for years that downloading a record illegally was the same thing as stealing a CD from the store. I can only hope this argument comes back and slaps them in the face now.
My only concern now is : with iCloud (and other music stores), you can re-download the songs you've purchased as many times as you want, deleting the file from your computer will not be enough.
I used to worked at an ISP who had about 25 000 dialup subscribers. (And about 10 000 DSL) They were playing around with the idea of charging a couple more bucks for the service. I got asked to generate a connection usage report. Turns out 60% of the dialup customers had not connected to their service in the past 3 months. (That was 2 years ago, so 75% today would not surprise me at all)
When people are used to automatic billing either on their bank account or their credit card, they tend to forget that they're paying for some services they are not using.
If you can wait until November, the Boxee Box seems to be a really good option. It's boxee based (which is, itself, based on XMBC), cheap (150$), small and does pretty much everything you want.
They apparently also run The Domain Registry of Canada. I received a bunch of letters from these scammers. These guys have scanned the one they received.
When talking to someone else, we can politely stop them and ask : "Sorry, what did you say?". As someone whose first language is not english, I tend to use these words a lot, mostly because of differences in pronunciation. Computers, on the other hand, are supposed to get everything right the first time! Why can't they, like us, ask those simple words instead of making stupid guesses??
I've heard this a lot, if there's no risk then why bother? You have to consider that people who really need treatment sometimes go see an homeopath instead of a real doctor or won't go trough chemotherapy or some other kind of treatment because of these qwacks.
I love the placebo effect, only when used at the right time, on the right people. The fact that they are selling homeopathic products at the pharmacy here in Canada is, in my opinion, a perversion of the professional title that pharmacists hold.
As a Canadian going in the US in the next few weeks, the idea of using my cellphone (For voice or data) scares the crap out of me. I wouldn't mind using a GPS app like this one while having the phone in airplane mode.
Mine didn't and it makes me sad to think that my message wasn't heard.
Plus the fact that my MP is Raymond Gravel, the priest who became a politician saying that religion would not play a part in his decisions (Which I think he did all right) but "chose" to leave politics because the Vatican said so...
You can pry my dead cow burger from my greasy and certainly not cold dead hands.

Since when is it their job?

Am I the only one who thinks it looks a bit like ATLAS from the LHC??
Which makes it even more AWESOME.
Calls in the US : 1$/min
Calls to Canada : 2$/min
Data : 10 cents per kB
This is why.

99$ is still pretty expensive.
That's what I call good product placement.
They also stopped providing free radio to Canadian users.
Goodbye, Last.Fm
Turns out he's walking in jail now! :

Yup, they produced only 300 of them.
Heard that from my Sennheiser rep a few years back. They were selling for around 18 000$ (CAN).
Instead of that bullcr**, they could just stop reducing the dynamic range of our music and give us back the sound our CDs were supposed to produce...

Uses 35mm slide protector pages, they fit perfectly for CF cards, but you could still use them for SDs.
I matches the entire RFC, not just the you@slashie.com .
<You @ Slashie> you@slashie.com
Should be valid if I remember correctly.
Same thing here ! /Too stupid to think about that one!

"most reputable news outlets"
Fox News ?
Nice to know there is at least one "window" that kind easily break on the ISS ;)
Yeah, the guys that steal laptops all know how to do that.
They all are pure evil geeks !!
Does this mean that after the study, they'll be able to tell violin makers how to "reproduce" a Stradivarius ?
If yes, does this also means that the value of the originals would be going down, or would it still be considered a highly valuable collectible item ?
It's like realizing you bought a 1st gen iPhone 2 weeks ago.
