Why the fuck do our cars need to be connected to the internet of things. Cars work when they have the least amount of electrical components hooked to them. Carburetors were great and easy to troubleshoot, fix and rebuild. Then came fuel injections and those pesky injectors cost big bucks to replace sometimes more than the car is worth and all the new ones are computer controlled. Now all our cars have black boxes in them and when I go to the emissions station to get cerified they hook to the box and it rats me out. (Of course I clear out the info about 2 weeks before I go and run around a bit ) All of hat has been followed up by our vehicles that are on the internet Onstar and the like. guess what folds A Holes all over the world are taking notice and car jacking has just gotten much easier. Hell I don't even have to tamper with the brakes if I want to kill someone all I have to do is notice when they drive away hack in notice were they are and when they power through a curve I can add a little more juice and kill the brakes then let nature takes it course. So this all begs the question? Why. We don't we divorce our vehicle's operations from communications ability, ie a firewall? Is any of really needed. I personally don't drive all that much. I work from home. I have a 99 Dodge pickup truck and 2 Harley's we really need to reevaluate where we are going with all this...

  7. It's all the Government's fault on Writer: "Why I Defaulted On My Student Loans" · · Score: 1

The Government has all this student aid and the Government loans. All schools make sure they maximize the amount of monies they grab from the Government. There seems to be no oversight on the schools spending habits. The schools are increasingly building building but more than just functional and grean buildings they are building them with marble and granite. No oversight on their spending on salaries. The schools spend money like drunken sailors. When I went to school the cost was like 800 dollars a year for tuition and fees. The government paid all of that and gave me 1500 dollars a semester just for showing up. Yes I was a vet and my home state of CT pays for tuition for all vets who served in a war zone to state schools. The school I went to costs now like 10K a year for tuition and fees. In 25 years it's gone up that much? Has inflation been that out of control? This is all not to mention boarding costs and food charges. (Which I did not incur) So the way I see things if the Government is subsidizing the schools they need to take a closer look at how the money is being used. One more pet peeve here. My daughter is starting college up in the fall. The federal student loan program limits the amount that kids can put in for. The limit is 5500 dollars at around 1 or 2 percent money. But the government takes 500 of that money and charges it to the kids as a fee so actually they are only getting 5000 a year from the feds and getting charged 500 right off the top as administrative fees(taxes?)

We put more people in Jail and Prison than any other country in the world. We created a crime out of taking out 9999 dollars at a time called structuring. Now If I wanted to take out more than 10 K from my saving and blow it all on coke that should be my business. The government is so ate up with the war on terrorism and the war on drugs and in a sick manner linked the two, that we the people are all caught up in the cross hairs. Today I'm in an IOS mood so I have my IPhone 5sl 64GB phone running. Some days it might be my Samsung Note 4 or my (gasp) Firephone. I even have 3 windows phones 2 Nokia's and 1 HTC. For me it's all about my mood and not so much the platform. So getting to my point. Tim Cook is full of shit and he has been drinking the Cupertino Coolaid. How would he know when some one switches their phone out? Who keeps those stats? I think he is pulling numbers out of his back orifice. Though there is one cool thing to note. When I log onto the AT&T wireless sight, it tells me what type of phone is presently being used for each of my 3 wireless numbers and it tells me what type of tablet is being used on my one sim card dedicated to tablet use. I doubt that Tim is getting his stats from there.

Same job / pay no benefits. Most of the grunt work done has been sent over seas to the Sub continent. I work from home now so at least I can save on the price of gas but of course I have to heat the house when I'm home so nothing is really saved there. I challenge any of these Senators to go into any of the insurance companies in Hartford or Springfield and look around. Figure out the ratio of American citizens to foriegn workers on H1B Visas. I would guess it's almost 7 out of 10 workers are on H1B visas now. Even the contracting companies (Body Shops) don't want to hire Americans because they can pay their fellow countrymen less wages and cow them better than they can American workers. That does not take into account how much work has been sent over seas. One more question: The work sent overseas, the profits from that work done over there never ever comes back into this country because the Large outsourcing firms will just claim that it's money made over there even though they are working on infrastructure over here. There is a lot to investigate but I doubt they will. Sen. Bluemthal was already on the horn asking for more H1b Visas. The Senators know which end their bread is buttered on.
