They don't necessarily need to go under one name. Sprint can simply keep the Nextel name and let them run along the same course that the company has done so far. In addition they can now utilize any technologies Nextel may have had to further improve upon their own Sprint network.
MPAA and the RIAA are never going to win this battle by trying to get all the trackers shut down and suing people left and right.
The only true way to possibly put a dent is to stop it at it's source. Get heavier on the security of their films and movies in regards to review copies sent out and security within their own organizations.
Lycos did win a minor victory in getting it's company name in the news again. Before this I'm sure most people forgot this company existed. Even bad publicity can be good "sometimes".
Sure the companies make the millions of dollars and that is why Infineon was fined that 160 million. Im sure that the $250,000 fine per executive is going to make them feel some hurt in the wallet.
Yah, but Microsoft isn't going anywhere either. They can squeeze Redhat, Suse, Mandrake, etc out of business. And then if anyone else tries to really market Linux, they can squeeze them out of business.
Can't underestimate the resources Microsoft has.
These would be people that have larger desks. And connect their computers to TV sets. Much nicer to use a keyboard while sitting on the couch, as apposed to being 3 feet away from a large TV:)
Well, I would imagine that if Intel does win this court battle (then doesn't pay this extra $100 mil) that they can counter sue for the $150 mil that they originally paid.
Obviously they realize that you can go out and buy a $500-$200 computer, THEY are the ones selling those.
The press release didn't have too much info on exactly how they plan on doing it. But perhaps near the end of this year we'll have a better idea of what will be going on.
Like a buddy of mine...another thing you can do to fix this problem and keep them out of your hair is to answer the phone saying:
"Central Intelligence Agency, how may I help you?"
I finally made a login today on/. Will it be transferred over when the site officially moves to the new servers or will users that made logins in that time frame have to recreate?

Now is it just me, or does something about those figures not add up?
Who did you rob? :P

Sounds like they are just trying to get some extra coin out of Nintendo. Bill Gates probably put them up to this!

Now we gotta wonder what AOL will have up their sleeve next. It would be nice to see one client out instead of having both AIM and ICQ.
