Could tell when the end of the year was coming up when our GM filled our back room full of boxes of paper and we started getting gift certs in the mail. She always spent every penny of the budget at the end otherwise they would lower next years budget. Was nice getting that $100 gift cert in mail every year.
My parents love firefox after I put it in for them. Although they did have to call me when their icon "disappeared"
I also have remote desktop setup so I can run spybot once in awhile for them. They absolutely love firefox, if you can run IE you can use firefox.(These are same parents who I had to tell them to turn on monitor to make the screen work)
Aren't they shooting for this generation to last about 5 years or more? I recently read that last year went from like 2% to 12% of homes have HD TV. With them getting more common and so cheap that number should rise a lot more. How do you think it's going to look in 2 years? Hell, we have 1080p coming out now, in 2 years they should be affordable for most people.
I've owned al lthree system from release, but I'm really not buying a new nintendo at release. Gamecube just hasn't seen enough use, plus how are third parties going to like this? Already seen a lot stop porting to gamecube, what are they going to do when the game looks worse on Revolution then on other consoles?
Nintendo has a few great games, I just think this is a big mistake they are trying to downplay. If last generation could display 480p easily, next generation that I've heard should last 5 years not being able to seems kind of backwards.
Tell me about it. It's 5 am and over 70 and will be mid 90's today more then likely. Everyone here at work is either wearing a jacket or has one on chair.
I remember Halo 2 AI being hyped by Bungie themselves long before release. I remember them talking about mobs will work togather and actually lift up tables to use as shields. I didn't witness any of that in game.
I dont remember the last game that was actually hard without being incredibly cheap, well Ninja Gaiden was good, even though a few parts were cheap.
Mythbusters(ya ya) did an episode about being sucked up into a helicoptor pumping water. I think it would work the same way, have a netting at the end so that it doesnt actually provide a whole lot of suction.
A lot. My work is full of people who either have seen it or are going to this weekend. There are also a few cd copies floating around that haven't been watched by those who hadn't seen the movie yet.
Me? I dont plan on seeing it at all so doesnt matter. If I ever did see it, it would be downloaded as I have no desire to = Not a lost sale
The copies floating around = not a lost sale, here anyway.
The games still have awhile to be developed. Also, I don't think any game at launch has ever looked good or taken advantage of a system fully. Look at PS2 release games, and first year compared to new games.
The company I work for (http://www.gtech.com(Should I mention this?))medical insurance and whatnot has significant/life partnet instead of spouse. During orientation years ago it was hinted that if you were homosexual that means they would be covered. More companies should do this. Also goes for our life insurance, dental, eyecare, etc. Company also helps you out if you adopt which is not something I've not heard of before.
Try out Oddworld Strangers Wrath, it's FPS shooting and third otherwise. It's a different game, besides being gorgeous it's fun. After about the third city it starts getting repetative, but don't stop, it changes up.
Two new games that are a must that just came out are Jade Empire made by Bioware. Sweet game all around even with my minor complaints.
Psychonaughts, made by the guy who made many of the games I remember fondly.(Full Throttle, etc) Truely fun game.
Check out Oddworld Strangers Wrath in High Def. Best looking cutscenes I've seen in a game, and the game is gorgeous too, not to mention it's a great game to boot.
As another person replied Psychonaughts is a must. As is Jade Empire. And I see I'm not the only one that can't wait for 50 player online.
Know how sweet it would be to have HL2 Xbox able to play with PC players, would be able to show them that controllers DO work on FPS.;)
Zelda Four Swords basically a gimmick to screw you into buying a GBA imo. Jungle Beat, not really my cup of tea, kinda along the lines of DDR without the excercise. Metroid Prime - I don't get it, I played both and disliked both of them. Poor controls, dull gameplay, how is it innovative? The only FPS on gamecube? Dunno about Wario Ware or Pikmin, haven't played either.
Have you seen the Eyetoy? That is atleast as innovative as jungle beat if not more. Is Revolutions going to be innovative because they added internet support? I doubt you'll find much innovation on any console that hasn't been done or atleast similar before. Also innovation doesn't mean good.
Not defending SquareSoft, I really don't care for their stuff after FF6. Well excluding Kingdom Hearts. I just hate when people always spout Nintendo innovation makes them king.
My parents air pop, I just use a microwave. Even the premium brands are just dirt cheap and no hassle. I can put a bag in and start a movie or open some beers/mix a drink or what not and it'll be ready. Plus not having to salt/butter which well bachelor pad the salt and butter are where?
The problem with hooking a stereo upto your PC is, your sort of limited on the surround sound, as I have mine in my living room, be awkward having a PC setup in there for the surround sound and what not. Also some audio snobs claim PC will ruin the sound, my ears aren't that good.
I'm not saying I don't like PC gaming, I love it. Most of my time is spent playing on PC. It's nice to just lounge on the couch and be a bit more comfortable. While controller isn't as accurate as keyboard/mouse, it's much more comfortable to kick back and use a controller. Also once you get used to it can get really good with a controller, you can't tell difference between people with controller and mouse.(Smartjoy lets you use mouse on xbox)
I agree with you, PC's are much more fun, but I also like getting on Halo 2 with my brothers and a few rl friends, drinking a beer and kicking back. Plus, a lot of less PC literate people, it's much easier to just hook up an xbox. Some games look gorgeous in HD and they are only going to get better. Plus on a 50+ inch widescreen?
As for Halo 2 campaign, I would never defend it, I hated halo 2. I like it purely for the Xbox live. If friends/family had other xbox games I like would much rather play them instead. Wolfenstein was sweet on xbox(Same as pc basically) and dead or alive ultimate is pure sex.
I guess what I'm trying to get at is they both have their places and good games. And working at 3am with nothing to do really sucks. While I don't like have to pay for xbox live, $60 for a year I don't even notice myself.

man, if work caught me looking at that webpage! Man I'd get in trouble fast!

What is this VHS you speak of?;) I think a lot of it is just the fact that you have to rebuy all the movies you already own.

Nah, it was in a Xbox magazine about a year ago I read it. They had like a 5 page preview of it, where they talked up the AI quite a bit.
It's interesting that my Cable rates just went up some recently without any notice except for the new bill.
Did you notice both the doctors hands on your shoulders?

Believe there is a bios that was created from the ground up and completely legal. I been out of the scene for awhile though.

Funny, I know tons of people who loved mission to mars. They only watch it high though, figure that one out;)
Get back to work.
You obviously don't run Xbox Media Center on your Xbox do you? It's like sex if it came in a little black box.
The games still have awhile to be developed. Also, I don't think any game at launch has ever looked good or taken advantage of a system fully. Look at PS2 release games, and first year compared to new games.
0 + 0 = More then 0?
