Lineage2 allows you to download the full client, I think they still do, I did it with both my accounts after beta ended. Although you still have to pay the $50 for not getting a box, which is fairly lame. They give all their expansions away for free though, a month after release they updated all the servers to be up to date with Korean.(Huge update) and Korea is getting their second free expansion real soon, with us to follow before long I hope. Charging for expansions when your paying monthly fee is very lame.
It was the UN only because USSR was boycotting the UN because of Israel I believe and couldn't veto it. The main source of power there was the US, and many smaller countries like the Philipines couldn't afford to buy their own artilery. The US sold it to them, and even charged them for what they used even when the US requested assistance. Was kind of an interesting war. Some good books and reading out there.
I always hear people talk about their insane games, and I've imported tons of them. You really don't hear that about 95% of them make you want to break things.:)
I think they are more prone to risking the time and money on a game that will probably flop, whereas the huge studios elsewhere won't. I'm looking at you EA.
Let us not mention the huge amounts of PS2's that die or have to be standing sideways for them to even work, shall we? I agree with the not so great flagship games for Japan though. The scratching CD's and DVD's I've read about but I have not actually ever seen it or talked to anyone who knew anyone this happened to, was this a Japan only thing?
The xbox has some fantastic FPS, if you ignore the whining of no mouse, it just sucks that the Japanese don't seem to like them.
Glad you got through everything okay. My family has a history of skin cancer, it's really odd, because we aren't in the sun a lot. And my sister just got rid of colon cancer, it's not a fun thing to go through.
I've been recently getting phone calls from different area codes(602 9something, etc) and when I answer it's like an auto dialer, quiet then hangs up after a few seconds. I'm also getting text messages from my cell phone company advertising prices on new lines/etc, this is not cool at all. Luckily I have unlimited...
Just to go off and add to your point a little. Luxury doesn't always mean a closer family and better life. When I was in high school my brother had me come stay with him for a summer because he didn't want to put his step daughter in daycare.(His wife just got pregnant and was working for the summer helping her friend out, long story) so I came out to take care of her during the day. They lived in a small apartment, and I don't think I've ever seen a closer family. They always went to parks and did things as a family. How many families that live in the luxury they think they need end up being divorced, ignored, etc? Since then they now have a fairly huge house and a lot of luxuries, but they still spend a lot of time togather, so I guess I kind of have no point.
I know when my girlfriend and I if we ever have a kid, one of us will not be working. Or atleast not fulltime. I just can't believe how people would rather have another 40k SUV by both working, instead of raising their child.
I agree. There is no way that my 85 BMW should be able to take a tiny collision(~15mph) and only have the bumper scratched when my moms 99(I think?) very expensive Buick's bumper collapses. Not to mention foreign cars used to be expensive to get any repairs done, now when my car rarely needs any work at all it's tons cheaper then my mothers car which is fairly new and less reliable.
My father when he was younger was in a little wreck and ended up getting a ton of tiny glass shards in his eye from the glass just shattering. From what he says it wasn't a pleasant experience.
It would also have been interesting to see what would have happened had the Japanese been successful at Midway. Not saying I want to see, just be interesting, would have been a different war methinks. But then again, in war there are always tons of things that could have changed the course.
Just like to add the Hiroshima was also one of the cities that was basically let off on the huge bombing raids the American's did. I believe Nagasaki was fairly untouched by bombs also.
Did you read the newspaper with the Japanese Generals who were competing to see who could decapitate the most Chinese? If you read the Rape of Nanking, there is a picture of the paper on there. There was no outrage at it, infact I've read in places people kept watch on it to see who won. Not to mention, how many soldiers occupied Nanking? I don't have any sources with me cause I'm at work but it was quite a bit. How many went on trial after?
The Japanese people knew it was going on, maybe not to the exact extent, or some of the horrible atrocities, but they did nothing about it. By letting it happen and not atleast feigning outrage or demanding them to pay, I do lay some of the blame on them.
Look at the prison scandal in Iraq, say no one really was outraged here, the people who did it weren't punished, it was just let go. Would you blame the American population for letting it happen and continue?
I hope this makes sense, after 16 hours at work I'm a bit asleep at the wheel.
How is this trite getting modded up? People see someone bashing Kerry and automatically think this guy has more intelligence then a bee?
Heinz sells many of it's products overseas, more then in the US I believe. It makes sense to produce these items over there instead of here. Should all companies that sell items overseas be required to produce them in America first and then ship the final product over? Hey, lets remove the Mercedes and other foreign car plants that build their cars in the US. Should go both ways right?
Jackass. Oops, I should have posted anonymous so the Kerry haters can't hurt me.
You haven't had to deal with Qwest DSL then. Back years ago before they partnered with MSN, I had to call tech support all the time. For some reason if my computer had been connected(I had a PCI DSL card, it sucked) and I shut it off and rebooted I could not connect. Well Qwest system showed that I was still online and I had to get a tech to manually disconnect me or whatever. I had this happen every couple months, and I'd call and explain what needed to be done. The rep would say, oh it says your connected! Have to reinstall the drivers, etc.(Actually I just said I did and I'd watch TV)
The best was when I told a rep that the phone line wasn't even connected to my card at the moment, she explained to me that I don't plug my phone line into my computer. I finally went out and got a Cisco 675 and it was a lot better, only had to call every 4 months. Best was when they switched to MSN and promised the same level of customer service, yet instead of getting a tech to fix it within hours it was 7-10 days now.
But if everyone has them and two countries fight a bit, what's to stop the loosing side from saying fuck it?(Pakistan and India) Not to mention what would some of the dictators/bad leaders care if they are about to die and what not?
I'm betting the first manned trip to mars will visit one of these or other rovers, be a great photo op to have your picture on mars next to a rover. But then again they would have to hide it in the studio for awhile...
Generally most theatres I've been to do not have good speakers at all. They just put out a lot of noise, and low quality noise. Problem is most people don't notice because they don't have very high end stuff at home to notice the difference.
I've got a kickass 7.1 system(10K+) which I don't even like to watch anything lower quality then a DVD on. You can really tell a difference on just the sound alone from a copy you download VS a DVD. Not to mention Dolby Digital >>>>>> Pro Logic
But do all the dudes have huge boobs?

I'm getting laid off in November, is that enough time to have a couch ready? I would much prefer to live over there, for awhile atleast.

I was just about to respond a bit less eloquently. Wish I had mod points.

Hiring?
Pfft, the Kraken is no more. It was destroyed long long ago on one late light session of Final Fantasy.

What happened to them? I haven't heard anything from them after the week that song was huge.
