Some of the college courses I learned the most from didn't even have text books, but rather I created a "book" from the pages and pages of notes I took from the professor's lectures. I still have most of these compilations of notes -- my favorite being on Theory of Programming Languages featuring OCaml.
Vista Ultimate and Business OEM license holders already have implicit downgrade rights to XP. If you order a machine from Dell with either of those on it, they will try and charge you $99 for an XP "downgrade installation". This is more or less bogus and just a convenience charge to have it come with XP pre-installed -- you can just run the XP restore disc it comes with and zap it back to XP.
First they introduced tabbed browsing, now they've upgraded the context menus and integrated feeds! I just don't know how anyone can keep up with them. OMG and they're integrating group policy options to block sites! finally! that was impossible to do on a firewall!
viva la revolution!
So, they nitpick and trash this PC while advertising every other (windows) PC on their page. I'm sure their sponsor's have no influence, I mean, it's America, lobbyists, er, sponsors don't control anything.
At first I was equating optical to retinal scan voting -- "Sorry, the correct choice was --" "AHHH! MY EYES!"
In more rational terms, this is good, there should be a paper trail which is key to our voting process. You fill the circle in with a marker, slide the ballot in the dealy, it counts, and you can do a manual recount if needed. That's what is truly required.
I basically think if the guys at Firefox were really serious about putting themselves as a true alternative to IE, they would focus a little more on truly replacing IE rather than just being installed side-by-side.
I'm not sure what you even mean by that? The only reason I can't run Firefox alone on a box is because some sites will only code to support IE. How is that Firefox's fault? Does that not show that Microsoft just has an unfar advantage on the market? I mean, I can't even use NetFlix' View NOW! feature through Firefox because you absolutely must use IE for whatever reason, I could go research that part, but coffee drive hasn't kicked in...I digress.
The point is Firefox w/ NoScrips and ABP (sssshhhh, don't tell) by far safer than using any Microsoft product to surf the virus/spam/trojan/malicious-script laden interwebs.
Boo IE. Yay beer-- er.. Firefox!
One of two things...
A) he's a moron, doesn't understand money, etc.
B) he reviewed the script, the computer files, and the stills and came to conclusion that it really is only worth 2000, and even asking 2000 is going to put them further in the hole. In this case, I wouldn't be surprised honestly, maybe it's just Phantom Menace with Indy super imposed over Anakin. I mean, Dr Jones did seem a little superhuman, ever seen a midi-chlorian count on him? Yeah we're doomed, and not in that awesome Calimah-Shok-D'Dey Temple of Doom kind of way, but in the way that Hayden Christensen's "acting" career is.
Wait, where was I? Sorry, got lost in Hayden's eyes, they're so..... void of talent.
If the caldera was "formed by a super-eruption more than 600,000 years ago." and if "supervolcanoes can sleep for centuries or millennia" (FTFA) then how much time can we really have left?
Before, I had the chance of getting sucked through a blackhole and spit out into a sister universe in some array of energy and mass, but, now I get bounced back in the form of Positron? Sweet. Then I acquire the Autobot Matrix of Leadership, and destruction of the Decepticons will be for sure!
But seriously, I think this guy just has a vendetta against Rush for writing a song about Cygnus X-1.
word to that. the only problem i have with 98 is memory management.. well, not the only, but close to. if i could get it to take advantage of more than 128 or 192, whatever it's radical capability topped out at, i would definetly still be running windows 98se.
there's no problem with windows (overlord aside) in general, you just have to keep it patched, you keep it patched and fully updated and it runs pretty smooth. if you claim to know anything about computers, you can tweak the OS pretty darn well to get it running smooth. yeah, it has issues, but whatever.
windows = gaming platform linux = developers platform
He also was charged with lying to federal officers.
Why do you lie in this situation? Just to jump to conclusions, it seems to be a common trend to not take responsibility for your actions. All he had to say was "Yes, I shined the LASER on your helicopter and I apologize. It was not my intent to distract and possibly blind the pilots."
It also mentions the fact that he had a GREEEN laser pointer. It must have said somewhere on the box that it was upwards of 35 times brighter than your common red laser pointer.
Yeah, laser pointers are neat, but they're a tool more than anything. I've had then shined on me not knowing where they came from, and not once did I think I was being painted by a sniper - I was simply upset at the fact that it would possibly be shined in my eyes.
Smack with an a Encyclopedia set, letter by letter , send him home with each and tell him to a get a clue. Fine a couple hundred thousand to be used on more 2-ply cotton toilet paper for the headquarters, and send him to jail for a few years.
Or, just have him get his Helicopter license, send him up and have him try to fly with lasers in his eyes.
Doesn't anyone relize that in the eyes of the corporate music industry giants its not even about music anymore. They could care less about what the crap they pump out sounds like, which is exactly why all these fools signed on to this "hitability" thing so fast. It's ALL about profit now. They take one band who they think will create a huge profit and dump millions of dollars into them, so they can make billions on the return. Why not promote multiple artists with the lesser funding? Because if you promote just one band that means that there's only one cd for several million screaming teenage girls to buy, which in turn creates the want for concerts, tshirts, and all the other crap they stick the band on the months face on. The music industry is like a crack dealer, they hook all the suceptable ones on the crap and then pump them for all there worth, until the band get older and breaks up. Then the next band comes in, and it starts all over again. To quote Porcupine Tree (an excellent band which i'm sure few to none of you have heard of) in the their song Sound of Muzak, "It's one of the wonders of the world and its goin down i know. It's one of the blunders of the world and no cares" I love music - from Louis Armstrong, to Velvet Underground, to Tool, to Led Zeppelin, these are influential people, these have been influential bands in the real world of music. Not this junk top40 sorry excuse for music (let alone sound) crap which all sounds the same with recycled lyrics of pseudo-love crap and psuedo "heart felt" emotion, these morons don't care, regardless of the "talent", its all about the money now.
As for the filing sharing stuff? don't even get me started on that, because thats the least of music industry's worry.
A few more minutes and we can start playing "2 minutes to midnight" by Iron Maiden!
Being from Vermont I instantly recognized this man as a fellow Vermonter - token horse and container of chaw in his shirt pocket.

Hello!? Anyone home? Think McBride, Think!
Nor does one wrong make a right. But if you take a negative and add it's absolute value it equals zero, which is what we're looking at here.
you forgot to make the "becoming like digg" comment. at least then you would have got modded for flamebait.
an alternative, high-end crack-cocaine for more advanced fiends.

United States trend along the worldwide average of hours spent online per month at nearly 14 hours.
I think I'm quite a few standard deviations from that mean.

i use them for just that.
