Just set Internet Explorer to use an invalid proxy, and set the user policy that they cant change it. Now the user can't use IE on the Internet at all.
Stored in the holds, or simply stacked on deck, were 35 tons of benzol, 300 rounds of ammunition, 10 tons of gun cotton, 2,300 tons of picric acid (used in explosives), and 400,000 pounds of TNT.
Over 1,900 people were killed immediately; within a year the figure had climbed well over 2,000. Around 9,000 more were injured, many permanently; 325 acres, almost all of north-end Halifax, were destroyed.
Much of what was not immediately levelled burned to the ground, aided by winter stockpiles of coal in cellars. As for the Mont Blanc, all 3,000 tons of her were shattered into little pieces that were blasted far and wide. The barrel of one of her cannons landed three and a half miles away; part of her anchor shank, weighing over half a ton, flew two miles in the opposite direction. Windows shattered 50 miles away, and the shock wave was even felt in Sydney, Cape Breton, 270 miles to the north-east
It seems cpu speeds havent been going up all that fast recently, in August of 2002 we had the 2.8ghz P4, now it's two years later and the fastest p4 is only 3.4 ghz...
At least with AMD we can say they moved to 64 bit, Intel hasnt really done anything.
Oh yes this is the country you want to trust for your outsourcing needs.
"Thank you for calling Dell,.... Well sir I think I know how we can fix your computer problem, you see my uncle Prince Zambar the great had $434,000,000 (FOUR HUNDRED AND THIRTY FOUR BILLION DOLLARS) yadda yadda yadda."
You can't really blame this on Windows, is just a fact of life that computers can be modified to look whatever way you want. Logs can be modified/erased, files can be overwritten.
Imagine if you will though a politicians home computer is broken into, child porn is placed on the computer and its set to go on kazaa. A tip is sent into police that ip 24.55.34.21 is sending out child porn. Police show up and arrest him/her. Now even though they *might* be able to get off saying they were hacked (even if all evidence was removed from the computer), their career will be ruined with the stigma that they were suspected of downloading child pron. This would pretty much ruin anyones life.
Actually he was helping everyone that the worm infected.
Every single person who was infected with this worm will now be A) Off the internet due to crashing or B) Have patched their system and removed the worm.
Instead of having millions of computers with an easy to exploit bug for kiddies to take over and use in bot nets, or for spammers to use they are now "fixed" one way or another.
A major ecnomic factor to consider would actually be that the Canadian dollar is up 22% this year. The cellular providers would have set their prices awhile ago and arent going to adjust for a currency fluctuation.
It's a great idea (for the ISP's) they cull the worst 1% of their users (which usually take up way more than 1% of the bandwidth) and are left with users that pay for a super fast connection to check their E-mail once a week.
I'd be interested to know what the going rate is for a 1 GB transfer. At what point are you costing the cable/dsl company money?
And probes have been sent to Venus in the past, guess what happens when you put a probe in sulpheric acid? It lasts about 23 minutes before being destroyed (

I mean seriously, if you're carrying a recorder into a theater, you've obviously going to pirate this movie. The submitter gives the ridiculous and extreme example of one of those stupid video phones which don't have the bandwidth or anything to make a even half decent copy anyhow. To me, this is a good thing, people are blatantly trying to copy a movie in whatever way they can, and this seems like a real logical choice to me. Industry pressure from the MPAA? Yeah right, this is more like common sense. Good on California for taking a stand against piracy.

I can copy text in both IE and Firefox...

Since password cracking relies on having access to the password hash, simply make the hashes an order of magnitude longer to calculate.

It's not even 1 gig of storage, its only 1000 mb. I expect this sort of thing from marketers at Maxtor but not from the geek phds at google!

My silly Alpha workstation from 1992 must not be 64 bit!
Maybe you can say it's a workstation and not a PC but later Alphas ran Windows NT which in my mind makes it a PC for sure.
Just thought of another name for it
"XP Rebloated"
Hell if it's anything like Windows ME was to Windows 98 than that name would apply.
Or can it?
Hey I don't think they should be able to track something some critical as water purchases.
Yah but html only lets you have one space unless you specify a special character as a blank. ( )

No the REAL question is how much mana does it take to get a "*Automagic* No-Fly-Zone Enforcement" going.
Uh Mars has an atmosphere...
