There is a class of problems for which functional languages are optimal. But it doesn't hold most problems. If you allow local state then you can do parallelism by message passing, and expand the range of problems tremendously without adding significant complexity. But no language appears to do this
Smalltalk might make you happy, check it out. It's not like C++.
If you're building a wireless car, you better have security and reliability as your number one bullet point. (even better, you don't need OTA upgrades because you get it right the first time)
I found this to be an interesting idea of why he isn't quitting yet. Basically, they hypothesize the Sanders is having the most excitement he's ever had in his life.....much more than the rallies in Vermont. And people are actually listening to him. All the attention is intoxicating.
Yes I do haha. You don't like Trump, so you compare him to Hitler. You compare him to Hitler, because that's all you know. You have no perspective, because you don't know history. In the end, you make dumb comparisons and silly conclusions. Learn history. Get some books (or podcasts), they're better than TV.
Why is Trump so different than Bush or all the other presidents who were compared to Hitler? You can't answer. I don't like Trump, and will not vote for him, but he's not Hitler.
I admit I don't entirely understand how sound pressure works, but having ear muffs and ear plugs will get you to the point that opening your mouth will cause a noticeable increase in (audible) volume.
Earplugs have a NRR of around 30 decibels (or less, of course). Ear muffs have NRR of around 30 decibels (or less of course). In my experience, they're basically the same. If you wear them both, you don't get a 60 decibel NRR though, because at that point, bone conduction starts transferring a lot of (relative) energy to your ear drum.
Get earplugs. These are comfortable, blend in so people don't notice you are wearing them, block some sound, but you can still hear conversations through them (and when the kids go to bed, you can take them out). I like my nephews but these earplugs save my sanity.
You're better off saying that you don't really know enough to comment based on history, because you don't. (There are parallels between Hitler and every president, including Roosevelt. But none of them ended up being Hitler).
Instead, say, "These are things that Trump does that I don't like, and he shouldn't be president because of them." That will give you a more powerful argument, and more accurate point, and won't cause people to roll their eyes.
If it truly is, then you can make the same point using another example from history. Show that you have knowledge, not that everything is a Nazi to you.
Scott Adams' apologia for Trump is reminiscent of what was said about Germany in the run-up to WWII.
If you can't look back in history and find an example that doesn't involve Nazis, then you don't know much about history.
Godwin's law exists to identify people who don't know much about history. Find a better example to make your point.
We do have "loser pays" in a lot of civil court cases in America (I don't know all the details, it's complicated). There are lots of details that can still help you avoid court costs, though. For example, the person who sues can withdraw the case any time before trial, with no recourse for the defendant. So if you've hired a lawyer, you're still out legal fees.
And I'd be willing to bet the Australian court system has similar problems; but weirdos haven't figured out how to abuse them yet.
That is excellent. I had a similar (but lesser) experience where someone who was mad at me rushed to cut me off......right into a red light, getting captured by a camera.
This was done during a war the Chinese were losing, badly, and it completely reversed the war. I keep forgetting the details because it's hardly ever relevant (it was, amusingly, referenced in Babylon 5 in exactly one scene); it's relevant here.
You'll never find someone who agrees with you completely on an issue like UBI because different people have different goals, which will lead them to different conclusions.
And I think I was right you enjoyed the article.:)

Like I know if that's true.
Someone needs to come up with a better solution because feature generations will use this as an example.
Like what?
Roll your eyes if you must

Maybe people just don't like the apps, that doesn't seem like the best way to test total usage.

Except they amplify sounds in some situations.

Except it also boosts the sound of quiet things, so you can hear far away.
I'm no expert on the history of demagogues

Why? It's a perfectly salient point

lololol

As much as I dislike Trump, I'd be kind of happy if BuzzFeed disappeared too.
True - but consider this one: Vangelis - To The Unknown Man [youtube.com].
True the melody there is simplistic, but here's more emotional communication in 3 seconds than in the entire Google composition.

Nah, wondering about the real-life example.

When was it?
I really should just move; but it's pretty impossible to move when you have no cash reserves.
Are you poor? Why not become a programmer? Pull yourself out of that problem? Clearly you have some skills.
Well, in the context of the US, you'd either have to also include money for basic coverage,
Which the US already does for poor people.....(medicaid)
People can only want so much stuff.
Really?
