It was also on Slashdot last week. Good to see that the editorial standards are as high as ever; although Timothy is sadly departed (good night, sweet prince), his fine legacy continues...
Highly recommend this setup. Have digital antenna up in roof, feed comes down to HDHomeRun in basement, and from there hooks into my Mythbox via ethernet. BTW, OTA digital quality is better than cable, since the cable companies re-compress the datastream and thereby degrade it.
Newspapers are minimalised because of the plethora of free news sources online. The same can't be said of peer-reviewed scientific papers. So, I think your analogy is flawed.
The REAL peers are the folks doing work in the profession day in and day out.
As an astrophysicist in a research University, I'd like to know where these REAL peers are. I thought I was the expert, but now you tell me there's someone working hard at an astrophysics day job — so hard, in fact, they're too busy to review the papers I write while quaffing champagne by the bucket-load in the penthouse suite of my ivory tower.
OpenCL only partly works on NVIDIA. Despite NVIDIA waving around a beta of OpenCL 1.1 a few years back, their released OpenCL is stuck at 1.0. For me, this is a real pain in the butt, as I'm not able to use multiple GPUs concurrently with 1.0.
FWIW, I think NVIDIA provided their 1.0 OpenCL release grudgingly, and since it is in direct competition with CUDA, they've put very little effort into further developing it. Having dropped big bucks on their hardware, this leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I won't be buying from them again.
But you're failing to recognize that the "could care less" is a misstatement of the idiom. This isn't a case of an idiom which doesn't make sense when broken down into parts -- this is a case of people saying "could care less" when they actually mean to say "couldn't care less". The latter is a well-established idiom which *does* make sense when broken down, whereas the former is a neologism employed by ignoramuses.
Mmm, young children and magnets. Can't see anything wrong with that.

Your precious tears are delicious to me.
Oh, how delightfully droll! What a funny bunch you all must be.
Wish there was a "-1 Stupid Shilling for Corporate Moochers" mod. 'Cause you just earned it.

Didn't stop the South getting its ass creamed by the Union. Your talk is cheap.
The perfect combination! When will it be up on Steam?

The butthurt is strong in this one, O Master!
I've said it before, and now I'm saying it again. Nerve stapling all around, or failing that, off to the punishment sphere with the lot!

I'm all ears.

He mad because he paid for a 4chan gold account...
Racsim? That's the new medieval torture virtual reality device, right?

The monks on Mount Athos have a quite a history of corruption and greed (see, e.g., http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vatopedi_monastery#Land_deal_controversy). I wonder if this blasphemy case is a retaliatory measure against a whistleblower?
And where did I make statements about morality, character, education, etc? I simply used the word "ignoramus".
Doubtless they will be invited to supercharge their craniums with the iBullet.
Sunspots have disrupted communications, you're breaking up, bzzzz bzzzz.

Gentlemen -- welcome to Foxconn Club. The first rule of Foxconn Club is...
Obvious fake is obvious. No self-respecting liberal would sip coffee -- it *has* to be a latte!
No, not hemp; it's rainbows shat out by unicorns and then sun-dried.
Chairman Yang would approve.
