But yes, he does make a good point. I just meant to point out that it would have been more informative/interesting (to me) if he had used the Hammer in his comparison instead of the Athlon. No big deal.

At the same clock speed, shorter pipelines are better as you reduce the penalty of stalls.
Unfortunately, Apple FUD'd, claiming that shorter pipelines were inherently faster.
Windows probably is to blame, although it has also recieved a lot of criticism for only having one knob to control everything... makes it hard if you need to turn down the radio while you're messing with the A/C, as I understand it. Also, it means you can't replace the stereo with an aftermarket one,...
Should be (as long as you stick to standard SQL); it's just all the functions are quite different (e.g. pg_connect vs mysql_connect, etc.), and the parameters may be different.
how difficult do you think it would be to port an existing MySQL+PHP system to PostGreSQL or something similar?
Not too bad, probably.
Unfortunately, AFAIK PHP doesn't have something like Perl's DBI, so you have to re-write all your db function calls, etc, instead of just changing the connection string and type like you would in Perl/DBI.
Of course, it may be (slightly) more efficient without the DBI type interface, but it'd still be nice if PHP gave you the choice.
It's a WORM, not a virus you can get downloading a file!

You may be right, but Athlon is MUCH older than P4 or 970.
Perhaps you should look at Hammer if you want to make a comparison.
Hmm, that also sounds like Life of Brian.
Aetheism is a religion. Agnosticism is not.
whoa.
According to Wired:
All we need is to get more of their "temps" to do more of this.
It's still working without the "www."
ExtremeTech has an extensive review also.
Nice to see they got rid of the leaf blower that was on the 5800.

If it was a 7-series, its has an "I-Drive" computer, which runs Windows CE.

I heard about some kid who wrote so much BASIC that he started speaking it.
Does that mean the staff has to learn computer languages too?
Like the memory eraser in MIB!

Oh wait, MySQL doesn't support that either...
Actually, it does.
DirecTV isn't HD unless you get the expensive HD reciever.
I don't think the other shorts on the DVD are going to explain it any further.
They are imititative of Yakov Smirnov.

At last, something strong enough to make a light saber out of!
Unfortunately, even now, it's one of the VERY FEW that are making a profit.
Amazon is still struggling to break even.
The sad fact is the huge majority were bombs.
The dotbomb has detonated... RELOAD!
