SuSE has been my preferred distro for years, and a good part of that decision has been due to YaST. Configuring Linux with YaST is easier than configuring Windows. Well I suppose once XP came out, Linux looked a LOT easier in comparison:)
So thanks SuSE/Novell, for opening up your distribution further. I hope that this move helps others to see the light.
This could potentially take a lie detector to a new level - people are likely going to think over their possible responses before replying, and this could be used to obtain those thoughts. Scary.
DSL's ridiculously expensive here in NZ. It's about US$40 per month for a 128/128 connection. The next step up is "full speed" - up to 8 Mb/s. This costs $35 per month I think, with a 500 MB data transfer limit. Go over that limit and it's around $0.14 per MB!
See www.jetstream.co.nz for the full story. 1 NZD ~ 0.68 USD.
Apple has to be careful though, they don't want MS to stop development of Office. Look what happened after Safari was released - MS announced that they were halting development of IE for Mac.
Hopefully it will be, it shouldn't be too difficult to make a Mac version, because the majority of the coding's already done for 1.32, and stuff like classes and mechanics are most likely platform-independent - just a set of rules, rather than OS-specific code.
There's no official Mac version of SoU, but it's possible to install the latest update for original NWN, then copy the SoU data files into it. I wonder whether this will also work for Underdark?
Not the same problem, but when I downloaded it, it tried to open the file in SimpleText rather than QuickTime. I did a Get Info on the file and it says it's in MooV format (they normally say QuickTime). I set it to open with QuickTime and it works now.
I'm running OS X, if you're not then this probably won't help:)
I feel sorry for the people whose broadband provider doesn't mirror the entire FTP tree :)

It's Hampster, you insensitive clod! :)
It's Monday Morning in my timezone, you insensitive clod! :)
Yep, happened here too. Slashdot was slashdotted.
You work for Vodafone and you've got an @xtra address? And you wonder why we jump to conclusions :)
You have to wait 20 minutes. The whole ad is pre-buffered before playing.
Being in NZ myself, that's *exactly* what I was talking about.
Some people, particluarly in smaller countries, pay for Internet by the MB. How much are these ads going to cost?!
Sony's players use ATRAC.
Except if there's only one choice, then there isn't a choice at all!
I thought Portable Document Format was just Adobe's name for it, and that it's actually Postscript Document Format?
Well if it makes you feel any better, I just got back from Ohope :)

I have no idea what you'd measure in kilo pico hours.

Presumably this would only affect the Windows version of Messenger. Thank you, try harder next time.
Interesting... a movie set in Australia casts Austrians negatively?

The computer I use daily was manufactured last year, so it's not old at all.
:)
I also have a Mac LC III from 1993, but I'm not sure whether once every couple of months counts as using it

I've heard of at least one "protected" CD which had its "protection" defeated just by dragging the audio tracks from the CD onto the desktop :)
I'm not sure what method OS X uses to rip the CD, but it works!
For those of you who don't know, there's a petition to bring HL2 to the Mac here.
