What I would like to see are shorter contract terms. WHY should I be locked into a 1 or 2 year contract with an early termination fee? You don't see that on just about any other consumer service (including land-line phones). As a matter of fact, I remember reading somewhere that they *can't* legally do that (after a certain amount of time), anyone care to enlighten me?
It's actually cheaper for me to text message (unlimited messages on my plan) than it is to send/receive calls before 9 pm (at least to non-customers of my particular service). Also, text messaging is less annoying in restaurants, movies, houses of worship, etc. than sending/receiving voice calls (IMO).
Neither
IG-88
nor the droid army in Episode I
would qualify due to breaking Asimov's "laws" (which I think are bullcrap...WHY wouldn't you use troops that kill without hesitation, follow orders without question, don't need to be fed or paid, easier to transport, etc.).
There are command line tools available for administering W2K servers. I can't recall if they are a seperate package or if they come with W2K (it's been a while since I've had to do remote admin on W2k).
Don't substance exist that when you put pressure on them they generate electricity so therefore you could take a big rock and sit it atop some of this substance and you would have unlimited amounts of power.
Wouldn't the energy you use to push the rock count?:P
In the entire run of the comic book (since about 1940), Batman has only intentionally killed once (not counting alternate universes and speculative futures). I read that in a book about Batman, could someone that collects the series fill in more detail please?
I had the original Game Boy (purchased new for Christmas 1990) for 8 years. It survived numerous drops onto the floor and at least 2 bettery leaks (I lost it, but for all I know it still works today).
My other piece of durable tech is the
Samsung SCH-8500 cellular phone (purchased December 2000) and I still use it. It's survived countless drops onto concrete and pavement, drops into puddles (and a toilet), being slept on, and a bad battery. I have yet to find another phone that even looks as durable yet, so I'm not replacing it anytime soon.
I've read the Cypherpunks book - it appeared to me that network security at DEC was lax. What rationale do/did you have for all of the security shortcomings? Why wasn't the potential for something like this considered?
Please give a plausible scenario under which this could have been a terrorist attack As has been stated before, there are *no* known projectile weapons available to terrorist groups that could have hit an object 200,000 feet up traveling at approximately 12,500 mph, and I doubt most current energy-based weapons would have been able to cause much damage at that range either.

Did you try building mozilla yourself? It generally takes me 50-55 minutes (depending on the options I choose).
The anime(ted) version of Street Fighter did *not* suck, especially the scene where Chun Li friggin' kicks someone through a brick wall.
Hint...UM doesn't only stand for University of Michigan :).
make oldconfig
That will only prompt you for new stuff, rather than go back through every single option.
wget will work just as well for http and anonymous ftp transfers. even a little faster for ftp, since it's less letters :).
Why not donate the old GBA to a less-fortunate child? Not every thing has to be about "What's in it for me".

Or maybe 3...Rebecca Romijn-Stamos.
Didn't Murdoch become a US citizen just so he could buy more TV stations here?

I don't know whether that's an April Fool's joke or not :|.

I noticed that too. Kind of inconsistent, if you ask me. I would rather accidentally open a new tab then close the tab I'm reading.
I just tried that - Mozilla 1.3 locked up :(. I went ahead & deleted the downloads.rdf file.

Doesn't your FTP client support resume?

Anyone know where specs could be found for flight recorders?
There have been at least 2 fatal accidents that I can think of with Soyuz: one in April 1967 (shortly after the Apollo fire) and one in the 1970's.
