Note that AT&T prorates their early termination fee (see the AT&T
Service Agreement).
Also, if they (AT&T) changes the contract (for example, by raising a fee), you have 30 days to cancel your service with them without incurring an early termination fee. However, I have no idea if you still have to pay the subsidy for the cell phone.
If I had found something like this, I would have reported it (anonymously of course) to as many local investigative reporters that I could contact. That way, even if the school's administration wanted to find out who did it, hopefully the media wouldn't give me up as a source.
Assuming he is convicted (hung jury, plea bargain, or maybe even get off if lucky), he won't get 60 years. Why do people (apparently, mostly outside of the US) think that he'll get the full sentence, or even serve the full sentence? He can appeal, get time off for good behavior, concurrent sentences - there's probably a few other things I can't think of offhand.
Have you checked with your (or your wife's) employer to see if you can get a discount? I get 17% off my Sprint bill monthly (except for the phone insurance plan). AT&T would be 10% discounted, T-mobile would be 8% & Verizon Wireless 17%.
In the United States, the (avoirdupois) pound as a unit of mass has been officially defined in terms of the kilogram since the Mendenhall Order of 1893.
In the US, it's about $10/month for unlimited text message plans from most providers. There are also newer plans that roll unlimited texting into the monthly fee.
Cars have to be registered, & their drivers licensed. There are also additional restrictions based on the jurisdiction (speed limits, must use a hands-free device, teens can't drive after a certain time, etc).
Trains have to be certified & their operators/engineers licensed.
Hospitals have to be accredited, & the doctors & nurses working at them have to be licensed.
Given the above facts, why would it be a surprise to license/regulate a hazardous device?
The law says unauthorized access. Presumably, coffee shops with wifi access are giving their customers authorization to access their WAP (
Panera has a splash screen that comes up when you open your browser after a connection). Here is the link to the bill under discussion:

I think these guys are lying. If you were a Chinese hacker that compromised the US DoD computer system, would you
Brag about it, thereby embarrassing China & pissing off the US or
Say nothing in the hopes of getting paid again?
Hell, it could have been the DoD paying these guys to say this in order to get more funding, or the Chinese government spreading disinformation, or these guys taking credit for someone else's hack, etc.
It's already happened (a piano duel in Who Framed Roger Rabbit).
What if he's just a contractor? (I'm speaking rhetorically...most likely a contractor would just get fired).

Seriously, what other video game has a character that *is* part of the font?
Wouldn't the person you texted simply text their reply?

Nobody who is law abiding in Western Europe carries a gun.
What about Switzerland? Last time I checked, they were still considered to be in Western Europe.
You don't consider libel or slander (whichever applies here) & defamation of character to be crimes?

Their redshirt-wearing hockey team won the Stanley Cup, didn't they?
pot/kettle/black :)
And you don't already have backups because...?
Just refer to the release by its release number (8.04) - especially in a business setting. Is that really so difficult?

After February 17, 2009 (if not sooner), you won't be able to get the analog signal for Channel 5 anyway. Does the digital signal go out that far?

Because that junk is actually made in China, maybe?

Why should the US Air Force be tasked with this, instead of DISA or NSA, neither of which is tied to a specific branch of the military?
