Anyone who uses the phrase 'nanny state/political correctness/health and safety run wild' is an irredeemable cretin
Personal attack.
As for concocting some bullshit theory about the 'nanny state' - would you rather trust some Chinese sweatshop to dictate electrical safety standards, simply because it is party of the private sector?
It's because actual Americans realize that this is only a problem with two-prong plugs in worn-out receptacles. If you don't replace worn out wiring and receptacles, you deserve what you get.
I read the fact sheet and it lists items that children routinely plug into outlets: "paper clips, pens, safety pins, screws and nails, tools, wire, forks, tweezers, hair pins, keys, knives, coins". If you're leaving knives, nails, and hair pins around for your kids to play with, you have bigger concerns than your receptacles.
I didn't realize that Apple was an arm of the government. Well, I guess we can expect compulsory vegetarianism and black turtlenecks in the future! I can't wait!
Well, he also thinks that a country that loses many times more people to cancer than the USA-- and has people with life-threatening conditions on waiting lists for months-- has a great health system. So I agree with your assessment on his ignorance.
Those funny tires are called low-profile. In North America, the ratio between the tread width and the sidewall height is expressed as a percentage in the tire size. It's the second number. For example, P225-50R16 would indicate that the sidewall is 50% of the tread width (225mm), i.e. about 113mm. The last number is the rim size, which is in inches for historical reasons. The thing that one should note is that it's perfectly possible to keep the same total wheel/tire combo height and thus, keep your speedometer accurate. All you have to do is reduce the profile when you increase the tire width or wheel size. I think that if you reduce the profile by 5 for every 20mm in tread width or every inch of wheel width, you stay pretty close. Unfortunately, the pimps like the full wheel well look, so they usually end up with a taller wheel. I assume they modify the wheel well, spacing, ride height, or axles to keep the tires from rubbing.
On the one hand, it's $200 for each recorder. On the other hand, it compresses everything to h264 which is very useful. On the 3rd hand, you end up with 720p/1080i h264 recordings that are "tricky" to play back. On the 4th hand, you can get a $200 nettop that will play them back fine.
Your sig is ironic, because in your world toilet paper won't be allowed. CO2 isn't warming the planet, because it is incapable of warming the planet in the concertrations we're emitting and even if it did, we're currently in a cooling cycle so getting it done "yesterday" is irresponsible and alarmist when calm, steady progress is what's needed. We won't be "around for a while" because in order to get it done "yesterday", we're turning control of our lives over to big governments as if they're some sort of super beings who have all the answers. But I guess my ideas are falling on deaf ears, since I'm talking to someone who thinks it's okay to turn armies on loggers.
No one who supports state-sponsorship of corporations is right-wing. That's fascism, and it belongs on the left side of the scale as an authoritarian state. It's different from socialism in that the state doesn't own the means of production, but it controls the companies. If you want true freedom, you don't want government control of corporations any more than you want corporate handouts. When a government controls corporations, it begins to use those corporations to enhance its power. Even worse is when the government controls the media like Venezuela does. Notice how the Obama administration wants to bail out NEWSPAPERS? Keep your eyes on GE/NBC and Disney/ABC as well. If I were Ford, I'd be watching my back as I didn't accept bailout money and I'm sure the government will correct that problem by imposing a "windfall profits" tax on Ford's $1 billion profit.
Just imagine how much healthier our Republic would be if, instead of 60% democrats and 40% republicans, the ratio was 40% democrats, 30% republicans, 20% libertarians, and 10% socialists.
There would actually be 70% socialists in your example; it's just that only 10% would admit to it. And we wouldn't have much of a republic left.
My HP laptop is now three years old, and I never really got of Vongo. It still tried to install itself when I logged on with a new user for the first time (and got stuck in a loop of failure, because the user wasn't privileged).
SQL Server data is a delicate mix of many files and registry settings. Once your DB is installed on C:, it is difficult if not impossible to move that data to D:
Detach, physically move db file and its log, reattach.

Straw man, and false dilemma. Thanks for playing.
I'm not dead! I'm not! I'm getting better!

I didn't realize that we had Goro on Slashdot!
Then when the global cooling comes because we've overdone it, they all freeze to death!

Janeane Garofalo says you are both racist, straight up. FYI.
Err... 80%.

Don't forget to change the combination lock on the door to your mom's basement.
Don't forget Sorny!

Phone companies have full access to the content of your calls, as well. Therefore, warrantless phone taps could be allowed.
I'm guessing that was supposed to be 25 MB/s.
We're the Soviet USA government. We don't do that sort of thing.
We certainly do. Now we have governments who enslave, rape, and kill those who dissent.

did he died?
Keep telling yourself that, newbie...
