    It's a classic example of theoretical vs. practical education.
    It's an even better example of rote memorization. It's nice to put asshats in their places, but if your friend had tried to pull that on me I would pass the test and then engage hinm in debate over the causes of the Civil War or the morality of euthanasia.

    Sorry, but I love how Brits use "hoover" as a generic for vacuum cleaners-- especially when some of the vacuums tested are actually Hoover brand. Do you call them "Hoover hoovers?"

    Maybe the policy is wrong. I have maintained a few Exchange systems, and even 2000 was solid enough to hold many gigabytes of mail. Let's not even get into the incredible economy of large RAID-5 volumes using inexpensive SATA or SAS disks that are still faster than last year's high-end SCSI disks.

Naturally, if you believe Jesus was God, you're going to surmise that God would have used divine methods for this purpose rather than having Mary anally raped.

    No, but the prophecy from Isaiah was. Regardless, it is a lack of understanding of Jewish culture that leads to this debate; as a young woman was reasonably expected to be a virgin in that culture and "almah" assumed this, much as the somewhat archaic English word "maiden" does.

    It ended up being very different from mainline OS/2 because Microsoft dropped things like support for 16-bit CPUs very early on
    286 support had already been dropped in OS/2 2.0.

    Yes, they are. But if you had read the post you replied to, you'd see that the next OS/2 (OS/2 3.0) was going to be based on what become Windows NT code, with OS/2 2.0 and POSIX support. This was decided upon by both IBM and Microsoft. IBM was to become the OS/2 2.0 maintainer while Microsoft worked on 3.0. Please look it up.

    That's not the purpose of patents. Patents are used to encourage invention by limiting the ability of others to copy the inventor's work during a limited period.
