The parent got modded offtopic despite speaking the truth of the matter. The video is quite seriously a flash animation with goofy looking AT&T executives in a board room and the audio is certainly not from an actual AT&T executive meeting. This is obviously not real.

GPLv2 Vs. GPLv3

Did you RTFA at all? The whole point of the particularly section of the GPLv3 in discussion is that it applies to tivoisation. Tivoisation is the process you are describing, where a manufacturer releases the code (just like the Tivo folks do currently) and then limits a users 'freedom' to run modified code on the device.
The GPLv3 fixes this problem, and it is a problem, IMHO. It prevents Tivo from locking down their hardware so that I, as a consumer, can run whatever I want to run on it. I bought the damn thing afterall, I should be able to run whatever I want on it.
Dude, you have got to put down the Matrix and Terminator. Take some time off and go read about the current state of AI design. The real world is very much removed from the fantasy you have concocted within your brain Mr. Anonymous Coward.
You know the first time they replaced the motherboard I still don't know if they sent it off or repaired it in the store. I got different responses to each of the people I talked to every time I called and asked about it. Keep in mind it took them three weeks the first time to replace it so I think I ened up talking to 5 or 6 different people about it.
I will never take an apple machine (unless it's a ipod) into a store to have it fixed again. The phone support was much quicker about it though it still took them forever to get stuff done.
Sorry bud, I tried that approach. They replaced the motherboard once and managed to make the whine noticebly louder. They then asked that I send it off again after it took them three weeks to replace the motherboard the first time. I refused and told them that I would not send it off for another three weeks unless they were going to replace it. This took place after a lengthy conversation with an idiot at the aptly named genius bar that told me he could not replace it. I asked him why if he could replace a broken ipod he could not replace a broken system and got a "because we said so" reply.
Finally they agreed to replace the system if a second motherboard replacement did not solve the problem. Needless to say it did not solve the problem and now I have my new system.
For anyone interested some handy tips are to write down any people you talk to, their Apple ID numbers and apple email address, and when you talk with them. It's also helpful to get them to write down anything they say to you in the record for the support incident. If they promise you a new system then get them to write it in the report.
You should try getting them to take back a whining 1st gen Macbook Pro. It took me over 6 weeks to get them to do anything about it. I think the turning point was when I told them "your tech support is worse than Dell".
The good news was that I finally ended up replacing the machine with one of their newer systems that has a Core 2 Duo chip. I'm happy with the new system. It's quiet and it runs cooler as well.
Apple's tech support is awful though.
Sam and Max is why I bother with episodic gaming. The last episode was a joyous romp through the psychotic universe that only a dog detective and his lagomorphic sidekick could inhabit. Speaking of, I believe a new episode is coming out this week.... I can't wait.
I don't know who modded me as a damn troll but you should have your mod privs revoked. There was nothing remotely related to trolls or trolling in my previous post.
The person or persons who wrote this article seemed to be in a hurry to come up with 15 items. Three of them are all about how to view things sorted in Finder and even then they seem to relate back to resizing the window, which is also one of the items listed.
I think they were rushed to meet a deadline and were really just wanting to cause a ruckus with an editorial piece about how Apple is not to their personal liking. I don't think they actually put much effort into writing this article.
The shutdown thing is laughable. It actually takes me less key presses to shutdown on my Mac than on my windows machine. If the person writing the article had patience they could also wait the 25 seconds it takes the machine to shutdown automatically once the shutdown button has been pressed. Personally, I use that time to get up and stretch for a few seconds.
What was that about MacOS being boring and unoriginal?
Seriously though.. I wouldn't be surprised if this was true. Leopard has a while to go and Apple will pull out "one more thing" before developement is done.
It's just like that show with the guy who went through a space warp portal thing and landed on that living space ship thing with those little yellow robots and those damn crackers... what was the name of that show again?:)
It's not Centrino. Centrino is the name given to Intel's package of Motherboard chipset + wireless chipset + Processor. The new Apple machines don't use an Intel wireless card. They use Intel's chipset and Processor but not their wireless card. This does not make them Centrino machines.
To be specific the new Macbooks/pros use a Atheros 5006x. This is in comparison to the powerbooks that use a broadcom based card. So Apple doesn't use Centrino.
THIS IS SLASHDOT MAN!!!! Your title should be PS3 == Still Sucks. GAH!!
That movie was God awful and a tarnish to my fine name.
Actually doesn't it make someone a bad christian to recite the pledge of allegiance?
I mean, they are pledging allegiance to a flag, a false idol that is not God... so isn't that violating one of those commandment things?
Let me clarify, it's a flash animation. Not merely a flash video. It's fake.

I noticed that as well. I don't think a lot of people are actually reading the linked article or looking at the video.
I'll give them the fact that the mentality of AT&T is the same but this is clearly parody and not news.
There was no camera. It's a flash video:

1) How can a digital copy harm sales when the people downloading it weren't likely to buy the bloody album in the first place?
2) What good comes to the artists from the rabid enforcement of copyright laws through frivolous litigation?
3) Do you like George Wendt and would you eat beans with him?

I get the strange feeling you're in the wrong discussion. Then again...
One word, and that is: Hah!
Why does it look like this video was taken through a hole in a box? It's just sort of weird...
I hate to tell you but Space Rangers 2 comes complete with Starforce copy protection and can render your CD drive useless.

Replicants is a reference to Blade Runner. A move by Ridley Scott.
The IMDB link: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0083658/
The move is based on the work of Phillip K. Dick. It also stars Harrison Ford in his least favorite role.
