    LPVHF and LPUHF similar to LPFM! I know the costs are going to keep a lot more people out, but I think it could be used for community broadcasting with ranges similar to that of LPFM (around a few miles radius). People could start hundreds of little TV stations all over the place as a vehicle for communicating to the people in their neighborhood. How expensive would it be to setup a TV station that can be viewed at 5 miles? We already have LPVHF and LPUHF (as you call it) except its called LPTV. LPTV stations opperate on the fraction of power and VHF ones can reach 16 miles, UHF can reach about 25 miles. The cost is anywhere from $50,000 to $250,000.

    The United States is doing a similar thing right now stations can have the freqency 2-69 after the transition we will have to give up 52-69 thats 19 channels being auctioned for other usage kicking us little broadcasters out. :(

    Pretty soon we will HAVE to buy HDTVs so why waste the money on an old analog TV when it will be almost useless in only a few years. Hopefully my analog TV will last a little longer so I don't have to shell out the cash.

    I aggree with you that the enviorment does play a role in the behavior and attitude of it and not the DNA. Question: Do you think motherhood or fatherhood is built into the DNA? I think it is because somehow animals in the wild seem to keep having babies. :)

    Redhat 8.0 is actually cheaper than 7.3. Its pretty interesting if they will end up making more money doing this.

    They have been trying to do Internet access in planes for years; I won't be surprised if this ends the same fate. I think the problem is that not too many people will use it and that people are not willing to pay $30 per flighty for access for just a few hours. They could have a monthly fee that would be more feasible.
    I wish them luck anyway.

    Nothing gets slashdoters fired up more than asking about distros.

    I myself have only used red hat, its great except like someone said above, its bloatware. The minimal install is like 600MB+.

    I hope to soon check out SuSE, Debian, and Mandrake on a few systems and see how it turns out. Mandrake looks relible and really promising.
