    Why can't people stop and think for a moment before they start defending their beloved Apple. At the end of the day it is a corporation selling products and there is no such thing as an honest corporation.

    Instead of a calling it an iPhone they should call it the new iPod with phone functionality. So the people who are not tech savvy are not confused. Telephones are also used by people who still live under a rock and replaceable battery is a standard.

    PS - Apple fans please think before replying and/or posting you views. And if you think you have given it enough thought then think again.

    And you don't agree with Indian because a third world country is rising beyond its stereotypical image? There are a lot of problems in this world be it a third or a first world country, putting an end to the development of science is not an answer to that.
    And to your counter argrument that they are reinventing the wheel. well not everybody is cooperative enough to share their technology with the rest of the world. so countries like india have to restort to reinvention of the wheel.

    I have seen the movie Mr.3000 and would say that Dan Glickman's son should be happy that people are buying the DVD because anybody in the right state of mind wouldn't. It is a totally worthless movie. If thats whats lost revenue they will never be able to cut it down unless they improve the quality of the films being made.

    Firstly it might be true the other way round, that Windows contains code from Linux but we have no way of telling. We know they got the ftp program from BSD.


    Windows group chief James Allchin accuses Linux of being a cheap knockoff: "There's no innovation. Linux is still in the business of cloning existing technology."


    Isn't this the primary business of microsoft these days. Don't innovate clone (Attack of the M$ clone :) ). The search engine, blog and the list goes on and on.

    Seriously, if the military was using M$, why would anybody need to worry about sabotaging the code. I think nobody does it the M$ way. 5+ years since I have used M$ and the blue screen of death is still their speciality and with every new version the probability of seeing the blue screen increases.

    In some cultures it is believed that people start hallucinating when they are nearing their end. Just like microsoft, yesterday it thought it could take on Unix,Linux variants in terms of security and today it is thinking about 1 billion window users. PS- Bill, please stop smoking.     fire the customer is someting I have never heard of. The market was driven by supply and demand and in case of best buy if they fire the customer who keeps them in business then they might as well shutdown their store.     I think opening up scientific literature to public is the greatest thought. How many times have you wanted to read some papers on a subject only to find that you to shell out a few dollars before you can get access to them.

    Knowledge should be free. I think by limiting access to scientific literature we are restricting free thinking. By giving free access the efficiency of the scietific community will double. More scientists will be able to collaborate rather than compete. Two heads are better than one.
