Sorry the apple fan boys will mod you down. But, as one of the very few people who worked in software retail in the beginning, I know you are correct.

People came in and asked, "I want Visicalc, what computer should I buy?" It was 90% up to what we made the most profit on, as to what we would recommend. And the answer then was the same as today. We sold Commodore, Atari and Apple, Apple made the most profit. You had to buy a TRS-80 from Radio Shack.

Nothing in the Apples ever stood out as even slightly innovative. If they had been, Microsoft would not of had to bail them out of bankruptcy. The best they good do was "think different, because we don't have any other good reason to buy us".

FIRST has nothing to do with Robots, it is electrical and mechanical engineering. Using Robot in the name is just another trick to get the public to go along with it.

I got very interested in FIRST at one time. I found that it is a money centered cheaters club. The mentors do the design, they do the majority of the software work, they fund expensive shop tools, then they enter kids who are just there to be social. The personalities I encountered were/are disgusting. The mentors are in it for themselves.

Sadly, Northrop-Grumman does identify the one kid who is smart, and the other 29 parental borrowed college funded grads will go jobless, but the banks made record profits so its ok.

So I left that environment, and moved to an area where wife beating was OK, and black men can not be president. sanctioned by the laws of the bible. I got tired of that as well. fortunately or unfortunately depending on how you look at it, I became disabled with private insurance, having just been hired by someone who had previous experience with my abilities and was not directed to hire only college graduates.
