Think about this for a moment. Then compare Safari on OS X to Safari on Windows. Then think about it again. If Apple have trouble emulating a look (even their own from a different platform), it's probably not that easy.
Granted the widgets in OS X will look better than widgets almost anywhere else, but by any stretch of the imagination, it's not an easy task.
Reinstall the Combo update for 10.4.11 (the difference between patch and combo updates is (roughly) as the names imply - patch replaces only those files changed from previous iteration, combo assumes 10.4 base system).
You'll have to go to/Library/Receipts and remove the.pkg file (receipt) for 10.4.11, which will be named along the lines of: 'MacOSXUpd10.4.11Intel.pkg' or 'MacOSXUpd10.4.11Intelpatch.pkg'. Removing the receipt fools the system into thinking 10.4.11 is not on the system, and it will reapply updates.
this fixes a lot of the issues that arise with OS X.
Companies such as Endace. A start up from a NZ university, they've been on the Deloitte/Unlimited 50 fastest growing companies for several years (peaking at 1000% growth).
Someone has to make the product to enable this functionality, and if this goes ahead, it will prove very lucrative.
I was reading an article at The Register that almost had me start believing that there just might possibly be the start of a potential change of heart within the music industry.
Will this stop Google spitting up expert-exchange links on anything vaguely I.T. related that is searched for? That would be it's biggest drawcard if it was the case.
Quite annoying, really.
I'm sure I'm not alone in having called various 'support' numbers over the years and discovering that the caller knows far more about the subject than the call centre staff. Furthermore, basic troubleshooting skills are usually lacking, and simple thought processes seem to be a mountain to tall to climb for many of them.
p.s. It'd also be nice if it would render in Safari.
While XHTML 2.0 is more elegant - as always, the subject of this article depends on support. More flexible yes; however this also gives more leverage for non standards following types to screw with it.
I'm not entirely familiar with XHTML 2.0 (we have code monkeys who concern themselves with this these days) but is this a case of the standards following the people who will or will not use this as is intended with a begging bowl in hand, or does it really address the many concerns surround HTML/XHTML/CSS?
...over a proposal to force manufacturers to tether iPod-like devices to Microsoft's own music player software.
Meh - teach 'em a lesson. Force manufacturers to tether iPods to Microsoft's own music player software:p
Ok, ok - I know it's not fair, not going to happen, and just plain not nice, but imagine the look on Bill's face when that little beauty came zinging his way...
From a linked article:
That's the essence of experimental particle physics: You smash stuff together and see what other stuff comes out.
and you get to do it with really expensive, shiny toys :)
No. According to Newton's Law of Gravitation the force of gravitation allows two particles with mass to attract one another.
This doesn't cover all particles.
...but shouldn't they be focusing on something much more worthwhile?
Like a working model of a lightsabre. Now that'd be really cool...
...in Japan. The country where you can hire 'family' to visit yours.
Demise? Or retirement? This thing takes no prisoners...
Depending on cost, one obvious potential use I can see for it is for breath testing for alcohol (instead of this method).
So I read the article (yeah, yeah - I know...I was bored) and I hope the spreadsheet software used wasn't Excel - we all know how well that counts.

Good luck.
The timing relating to certain issues is not good.

Because we all know we're all to lazy to look for the links ourselves.
Hmm. I'm not actually sure if that's true, sarcastic, funny, or what...
...says yet another that's not got caught downloading music or movies.
at least I didn't think I was on meds... RIAA handholding

It's not April 1st, and I'm not on meds (at present - if this is true, well who knows...).
Has anyone seen anything else of note regarding this historic coming together? (take that as you will)

Are you sure that's his leg?
An 'Intel Inside' tattoo?
In a serious vein, if she wins it will set precedent and give hope to others that can't afford a lawyer.
No - but I do want to know if the ATI update will run on my Mac.
but then it would be all scratched and stuff...and...and...
Oops - I think I'm missing the point :p

NZ$3.50 each though - no way I'm going to be paying that...
All Steve understands is how to jump around the stage leaping and whooping like a primate. However, apparently that's enough to run Microsoft.
