    The actual cost to build a nuclear power plant would be a secondary consideration if it weren't for the likewise insane regulatory requirements, which if you ask me are slanted disproportionately at nuclear power. Ergo, the sign wavers won, and sanity lost.

    I disagree sir. Aside from the fact that nuclear energy is heavily subsidised, and would not even be profitable if it ran on its own, you can't really call the regulatory requirements insane, when potential accidents could have such a massive impact as Chernobyl's.

    Matter can only move one way through the wormhole. (Energy, like radio waves, is bidirectional)
    So if they dial a gate address, they could bring air from the ship to the planet. They'd have to be ON the planet, and dial the ship, before they could bring air from the planet to the ship. And it would not just flow through, since they've dialed in the past to ocean worlds, and vacuums, and there's no influx due to pressure differentials. As someone else said, the gate doesn't allow for that. They'd have to bring it back somehow. (Pressurised containers?)

    The Wii Fit and various others, sell in a the standard truckload.

    As an overweight Wii-game loving freak, I can tell you that Wii-Fit sits quietly on the floor, gathering dust, just like any other fitness product I've bought over the years.

    Yay the 21st century! Where we legalised torture, and turned a blind eye to torturers. Where doctors who perform legal services can be shot while serving as an usher in church. Where gay couples can have their marriage rights taken away from them.

    Now, which country MIGHT I stand a chance of making some change in... the western democracy where I live, or some Sharia-ridden country where I am lucky enough NOT to live?

    Excellent point sir.

    Kevin Smith (the Clerks guy) has a weekly podcast called Smodcast. It's quite successful, in terms of downloads, nominations for awards, etc... But they have had real difficulty getting and keeping a sponser for the show. And he's pretty famous and well connected.

    I'd imagine it's impossible for the average user of a Windows machine to avoid automatic downloading of updates, which can also automatically reboot your machine even if you're in the middle of work but happen to have left the machine alone a bit.
