    Wasted tax dollars? I'm sure tax dollars are wasted on many idiotic programs than the geological survey of Mars. Space exploration is so important to understanding how the universe was formed, which in turn makes us understand how the earth was formed, which in turn makes us predict many events.

    ... How they produce energy. It is a matter of supply and demand and trade. If any fuel is a publicly traded commodity, in today's politics and turmoil, it will become expensive simply because of hedge funds and such.

    Of course it won't, Linux is an OS.
    Nobody is looking to replace mainframes. Mainframes were built to perform tasks that the business model dictated. Business models today wouldn't run properly on a mainframe.

    ... this is about gas prices. What are transportation trucks going to do, modify their trucks to use carbon fiber? This directly impacts food prices and other consumables. I know you're going to say that if cars were more efficient, oil demand would drop. I disagree, I think if cars were lighter, people would drive them faster, and therefore use up more gas. No, the solution is alternative fuel, like solar. If we spent a billion dollars a year for the next 5 years, I predict that we can achieve efficient 75% solar panels.

    What the hell does that mean???? The phrase doesn't make any sense. At least not from a programmer's point of view. It could mean any of the following: 1) How to program the UNIX OS? In this case, there are books on how to program the Linux kernel, maybe not at Barnes and Noble. 2) How to write Shell scripts? There are numerous books on that topic.

    Am I mistaken by saying that you come from a Windows OS world? Uptime (which actually means the system is serviing its purpose at 100%) is a sign that the system is: - Stable - Secure - Well administered.

If these servers get blacklisted, their customers will not be able to effectively send out email. The message will get sent, but the receipient will rejected because the server is blacklisted.
