From past experience outsourcing IT and software development puts a limit on how much software development actually takes place in a company, at times from what I've experienced it seems that all IT does is provide support and if there is any development both companies do not see eye to eye, keeping IT/Development in-house is crucial to integrating software development with the company operation as a whole. Writing good software allows a department to function more efficiently and allows better inter-departmental operation. In GM's case this is the right time to do this, people are looking for work especially in the Detroit area (not sure if they will find good IT personnel and developers since many of them have moved out of the area), and the economy is recovering slowly, this will put GM ahead of its competitors.
Best of Luck to them!
I found a RAM stick once in a parking lot, I plugged it in and found nothing, or so I thought, a directory listing was empty and a anti-virus scan returned a clean bill of health. A few days later my friend told me that he was receiving emails from me. After investigation it was determined that a Linux on windows was running, with a SMTP server and a mail client was sending many emails. Is that possible? I asked about the reason for the SMTP server, I was told it was in case my ISP was blocking or throttling SMTP traffic through their server.
Do you currently fill up at home? No. This car will not require you to charge it at home, it can probably run 400+ miles before it needs a recharge, then it will get charged at an Electric Station, just like a Gas running car. 6 minutes is a bit more than what everyone spends at the gas station.
Everyone who repeats this non-sense phrase, is a complete moron, it's like asking which came first the woman or the child. Of course the chicken came first, it evolved from another creature, unless you can imagine the egg suddenly appearing out of nowhere, like the monolith for example.
What about in the day time when the sun is shining?
What about overhead luggage?
What about the bus-like seating where you can't even see your foot, let alone below it?
allowing soldiers to play games about the same war they are fighting. Hhmmm I wonder what an army psychologist think about this... You don't need to be Einstein to figure it out.
The Prius certainly does not cost $27,000, I bought mine brand new 2008 in late 2007 for $21,000. Ok so it doesn't have Sat-Nav or leather seats.
I've driven about 55,000 miles.
- Brakes are 15% used, will never have to replace them.
- The Prius brakes don't leave dirty and ugly brake dust on the wheels.
- Tires are still stock, will replace them in a year or so.
- Oil service is *very* cheap as the engine is 1.3 liter.
- No battery changes, ever... until 120,000.
- My Prius does 58MPG highway, therefore contributing less to pollution and I am breathing less harmful gases.
- I don't have to worry about keeping my Prius spic-and-span in order to keep a certain image, a quick $4 wash at the local car wash is sufficient.
I'd really like to see the price that Mercedes charges for those services and replacement, tires? Oil changes? Brakes? Car detail? Forget about it.....Once the warranty runs out on a Mercedes, a simply oil change or transmission oil change will run you hundreds of dollars.
Has anyone played Risk?
1) You strategically place a number of soldiers in country A
2) Invade neighboring country B
3) Strategically move soldiers to country B
4) Invade country C

Look at the Iraq/Iran/Afghanistan map, it's all there in black and white.
Iraq: Oil - Secured.
Afghanistan: Trillion-dollar mineral deposits - Un-secured.
Iran: Nuclear power = Less imported oil = Oil prices drop = That's a no no from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, etc..
1) Since it's 'your' router, maybe you should have secured it better, I bet you didn't even know its password. They actually did you a favor, this is the same logic as hackers hacking into systems to discover their security holes.
2) I'd really like to see most of the Verizon FIOS customers configure 'their' Verizon FIOS router.
Please quit whining, and be thankful they changed the default password instead of some cracker changing the router's DNS settings and ruined your life.
... is the most absurd debate I have ever heard, it is analogous to asking, "which came first, the mother or the child?". Of course the chicken, which developed from another creature, came first in order to lay the egg.

Euhhh because of licensing issues maybe?

And why would the FIFA ask for passport data in the first place?
Not sure how you got a score of 5, HOLY CRAP! I mean reaaaally, WOW!
Oh yes they do, bad breaks, low inflated tires, too much inflated tires, bad balance, bad alignment...
speeding passes within a week, and you get a free helicopter pass to the hospital with 1 year accommodation.

... in my Prius, it's called a horn.
.. so in other words you need help to enforce your lame and counter-productive rules?

I'd get rid of the pixellated lines and propose a blinking square where the piece needs to land.
What highway?
Only some people are serial killers.
... what do you expect? It's a Hybrid...
