We don't need another law for this, places that have this kind of personal information (e.g. banks, healthcare providers) already have to comply with some new fairly strict privacy and security laws (eg Sarbanes Oxley (SOXA) and HIPAA.

Hence the link to the table showing typical alcohol content of beers. It clearly shows what you are trying to say (again).
Also check out Silly beer laws for the types of stuff that some unknowing visitor may find if they end up wanting a beer in, say, Georgia.
I know there are good beers here (and defend it when I get visitors), that was what my pint[sic] was meant to be. (any other recommendations other that Trippel?)

Nah, Been living here USA, for a while now, the run of the mill beer is pretty much the same.
There are some wierd laws about the maximum content of alcohol, that differ from state to state. Subsequently even brew pubs will not have a strong (i.e over 7%) ale.
quick google for some figures here.
Oh, we (aussies) definitly drink MORE beer, at FASTER pace, perhaps that why some americans lose their heads (and they think we are AA candidates).

  11. Is this really a good thing ? on Significant Interactivity Boost in Linux Kernel · · Score: 2, Interesting

I always felt that one the advantages of *nix+X over that other OS was that the UI processes where not part of the kernel as a high priority, so that some UI glitch didn't lock the whole machine up. Sure, by doing so, it makes the system feel more responsive (feel responsive=feel faster if you don't know better, this is why M$ did this I propose), but fairly problematic when one of them misbhaves (and you can't switch to a console to kill of a rogue application). Or did I just miss the point ? SB

  13. Re:Open Source? I'd be happy with XMI on IBM Buys Rational Software · · Score: 1

XMI is the key to supporting the open standards, and arguably open source (i.e. argoUML supports XMI).

Recently Rational dropped XMI supprt in their new XDE product (ok, so unisys provided the support in rose, but rational provided it as a plugin), this was a move that made it difficult to justify using a very closed product, I need the IP held in a modelling tool to be able to be digested by other tools (of my choice, i.e. other companies).

IBM, you have done some XMI work in the past, carry it forward ....
