Your munch more likely to see something for OS X before Linux. Regardless of superiority its simple economics... there are more OS X users than Linux users out there regardless of how many machines run Linux.
because your supposed to REPORT the news, not chose a side to report on. Otherwise your just a mouthpiece for one side, and not giving the full story.
True reporters are schooled to get the entire story from all angles and all sides. Its practically beaten into your head in school. Sadly many forget this fact when they go out there.
But its Wired's duty to at least TRY to get the other side as well, which Wired these days routinely fails to do because of a extremely inept writing and editing staff, or worse personal politics of said staff to manipulate it's readership which their past EiCs have admitted is going on there now.
They went from a great tech counterculture magazine of the 90's to complete and utter joke. Its no wonder after 6 years I let my subscription laps.
Sorry Gizmodo and Kotaku are part of the Gawker network of sites (which is why they are media go to's more than anything else because Gawker is a well know media outlet) and are in no way affiliated with Microsoft. They have been touting their love of the Wii as well and two of Kotakus bloggers are now Wired Mag staff.
Their hate on Sony has much to do with Sony's recent handling (or most would say blatent misshandling) of the public at large. They have never said the PS3 or other Sony products suck (infact that have said the PS3 as a machine was mindblowing) just that they are always overpriced and consumer unfriendly which most of the public would agree with.
They have trashed the Xbox just as much in recent days the latest being the fun clip of the guy cooking eggs on his heat sync its so hot. and they are huge Apple lovers only to be rooting for the Zune (at least some of them are)
And well I would without a doubt say Consumerist, another Gawker Media site is quite anti Apple, microsoft, Sony and just about any company who screws with its customers.
But we are talking about the Zune here, which is the exact same price as a simularly featured iPod minus the buggy and lacking WiFi that Microsoft is trying to sell as the next big thing.
In this situation, the Zune might get a few people just like the others have but not many.
As for the shuffles screenless design being a turnoff, the shuffle is one of Apple biggest sellers. They wouldnt have redesigned it if people didnt want to buy it. They even got rid of the 1 gig iPod nano because people where buying the shuffle for the nano. The fact is there are a lot of us (myself included) who find the lack of a screen good. I would rather just press a button to skip a track while on the tredmill then look at a screen to hunt a song down.
No the good intentions here is to force the movie industry to understand that a download IS NOT a DVD, and thus you cant charge 17.99 like the industry wants Apple to. Thats the reason for a lack of movies in the first place, they tried to bring everyone on board, but only Disney (who Mr Jobs owns the biggest share of the company) would go in on the deal.
I dont think it hurts the video iPod though, They are the number one payed site to download TV shows still. Most of the other groups havent even touched that market
That being said Apple could easily JUST sell Dinsey movies and people would buy in droves. Never underestimate the power of the mouse.
Slick Willy did the office of President great damage and tarnished his own legacy with his disgusting acts and subsequent coverup.
The only thing different from other Presidents here was that he got caught. Both Republicans and Democrats have all did "disgusting acts" in office many times before, but the media ignored it as it wasnt a issue (hell even when the media was involved it wasnt a issue as was the case with Barbra Walters getting hit on by a former President)
the difference here is the media likes to make up news now, because people dont care about whats happening in the world, they care about celeberty gossip.
Lastly I would think Bills BJ is a lot less damaging that having a President routinly lie ON TAPE about WMD's reasons we went to war, and even what he said no less than a week prior to saying he didnt say it. Or having a Vise Pres who can either never be found, or is busy shooting his hunting buddies in the head. Infact most of thee world couldnt understand what we where so uptight about with the hummer... Frances fucking president has a mistress in office who his wife and the entire country KNEW ABOUT and couldnt give two shits because it had no bearing on the countries politics.
It is not reasonable to host an event called the "World Series" for a game which is not played outside of America. Since only 2.1% of you are aware that there is a world beyond your borders, your error is understandable.
Heh South America and Japan would take some offense to the not played beyond our borders idea.
In japan they might actually kill you for that comment.
More importantly the French created French Fries so maybe we should be calling them pommes frites instead... AND WE created Potato Chips and thats the god damn name we gave it! Its you dumb bastards who insist on calling them weird fucking British slang things instead of their true names who should get a clue.
I agree, in labs that are high use and dont need settings changed, deep freeze is a lifesaver. I even use it on our OS X labs to prevent them from fucking with the dock every day. Have my computers automatically reset at 1am and Im golden, deep freeze resets the computer to exactly how it was when I imaged them back in July.
funny your the only post accusing Lik-sang of shafting customers, while 99% of the thread praised them on how good they where and many bought multiple things from them.
There seems to be the strange view often expressed on/. that it's up to judges to fix bad laws.
Actually reading into the case its more, a bad judge made his own interpretation of the law. Which is what the case is here. Unfortunatly for the rest of us, Lik-sang doesnt have the money to shove it his face. The fun thing about justice... only the rich can afford it.
That might have been their beef, but they killed Lik-Sang FOR selling their product. The lawsuits are about the PSP's not about ther other stuff, thats what Sony is suing them for. Lik-sang aint hiding behind anything, this is flat out what Sony is killing them for.
And its Britians courts that are letting them do it by actually buying into the argument that by selling directly to Europe they bypassed safety issues, when the PSP sold in Europe is the EXACT SAME THING.
Now what happens if those classified documents reveal the fact that the government has been conducting illegal activities, say something like wiretaps with no court orders? How is that not just another form of whistleblowing?
See Deep Throat.
NO not the porno.
Bassically our laws spell out the difference, thus a true whistleblower would not be considered a criminal while someone who says "Joe whoever didnt kill so and so cause I did it" would be.
Even basic journalism courses teach you that "freedom of the press" is not a outright freedom. Just like you cant go into a theater and screem fire and expect your freedom of speech to be honored, your not allowed to protect fellons for your story. In many cases THATS what the press gets convicted on, not a whistleblower, but fellons who broke the law and tell the press about it.
This is reporters wanting to be above the law plain and simple. You obviously dont understand the US legal system and how its been for hundreds of years.
The zeal of federal courts which, unlike those in 33 US states, refuse to recognise the media's right not to reveal its sources,
What was the nature of the situation? What did the judge rule? Thats the problem with organizations like these, media rights are not all powerful, and there are many situations that law says the media HAS no right to keep a source hidden.
Apparently not - once you've downloaded music on iTunes, you don't get to download it again. What a waste of money.
Jeez better not tell Apple that, since they let me redownload all of my music since iTunes was created 5 months ago once I told them the honest truth (hard drive failure and the back up copy DVD was damaged)
And they ALWAYS have... they always said they where more upset that THEY didnt catch the problem... even though every Microsoft fanboi loves to miss that part of the quote.
But it still stands that any other OS would never have let this happen, and this is STILL a issue on Vista too. Why is it every other OS out there has managed to get a clew about security but the coders at microsoft are too busy making their OS shiny and lying about security?
The teachers in our district had the same problem till I showed them that. Kept setting the screen to 800x600 because they had no clue how to change the font size.

Except it was actually the French who invented them... Maybe someone needs to brush up on who owned who at that point in history.
More importantly the French created French Fries so maybe we should be calling them pommes frites instead... AND WE created Potato Chips and thats the god damn name we gave it! Thats all that ever needs to be said.... tubes.
Granted I have 2 gigs so I dont care, but still

I am so sick of that company saying your not a gamer unless you conform to THEIR idea of a gamer.
Ahh but thats only one of the cases. They alude to many more than that without actually saying what.
NO not the porno.
