Serves them right for closing Black Isle. And for not producing more copies of Planescape: Torment. If they made more, they might have another...$20 or so.
No, there's quite a difference between this and the American Disbailities Act. An engineer building his own HDTV isn't taking resources away from anyone else. When a school is forced to use taxpayer money for one person in a wheelchair, some people are actually lose out. No one does in this case. Everyone should be able to see that the broadcast flag is *much* worse than repealing the ADA.
Anyone who has played Xenogears can appreciate video games as art. (Unless you didn't like it. But then you're crazy, and none of your opinions are valid.) Though the dialogue (it's a translation) isn't so great, the story and music more than make up for it. It's something I wouldn't have an issue with recommending to an English teacher.
Planescape: Torment is along the same lines, but with a much more well-written text. Most of the game can (re: SHOULD) be done through conversations, instead of killing everything. The story is much simpler than Xenogears, but with the same amount of depth. I'd say play it, but have fun finding it. Truly art-worthy, though. Sucks that Black Isle was closed down.

Play Black Isle's Planescape: Torment and see if you still think the same thing.
Does it (or will it) support DirectX? This is the main reason I stopped using VMWare to do everything in Windows. I still had to reboot for a lot of games.
Also, I question the portability issue of the cube. It's not like they got rid of all the attachments necessary to make a gamecube truly portable. You still have to hook up the audio. You still have to plug it into a DC outlet. You still have to bring the controllers along. Sure it's lighter than a PS2, but that still doesn't mean it's a whole lot easier to lug around.
C'mon, it has a frickin' handle! Isn't that enough for you ingrates?
Planescape: Torment, which I've decided is tied for best RPG ever, is much like this. It has two required fights. Pump all your stats into Wisdom and Intelligence, and you can get through all the dialog quite easily. Become a mage, and your stats are put to good use for when you do fight. However, it works in this game because of the storyline, which is apparently nonexistant in ToEE.
I use GAIM on my home computer, and it works great, except for one problem: file transfer. For some reason, AIM's file transfer doesn't seem to work reliably. Maybe it's just that I'm trying to send files to people who have no idea if they have a firewall or not.
Anyone ever play Xenogears? It's loading times were rather high, but it hid them using a cool zoom-in effect, so they weren't too noticable.
Star Wars Galaxies has some of the worst load times I have ever seen, and that's one of the reasons I don't play anymore. 5 minutes on the initial load, 2-3 minutes when changing planets. Sure, I not travelling between planets that often, but when I do, it's quite annoying. Especially if I can't fly directly and miss the transfer shuttle. Then I have to wait 8-10 more minutes, but it's not as bad, because it's not just a loading screen.
FFXI has almost no loading times on my computer, ever. I'm amazed.
Maybe they're referring to some other internet besides the Internet.
From dictionary.com:
<networking> (Note: not capitalised) Any set of networks
interconnected with routers. The Internet is the biggest
example of an internet.
Even worse than sequels are multi-part games that force players to buy multiple games in order to not be left with cliffhangers. Xenosaga and.hack are the two main ones.
Xenosaga's not so bad because it managed to form a somewhat coherent game out of its segment of the main plot, it's long enough to be a real game, and the games are being produced far enough apart for me to not feel like I'm being ripped off.
The.hacks, on the other hand, make me want to kill Bandai. Though I've enjoyed them so far (I'm in the middle of the 4th), I can find no reason why it couldn't have been done on one disc. Each game is about 20-25 hours long, even if you spend lots of time exploring various fields and dungeons. They were all released within a year. When you unlock movies from a game (and you can unlock them all), you can watch them on the disc for any subsequent game, meaning it's not a space issue. If anyone can shed some light on why the whole game isn't on one, or even two discs, please do so.
A lot of games might not have excessive violence or sex, but when something like FFX-2 is designed purely to waste 40 hours of my time, doesn't it deserved to be banned?
I perfectly agree with what you said about Mitsuda. Everyone needs to go get the Xenogears soundtrack right now. Or at least get some of the tracks. June Mermaid, Small of Two Pieces, and Awakening, especially.
It's too bad he left the Xenosaga project. Maybe he's busy trying to put together a concert.

...and you may just win this contest.
You can't predict who will mark you as spam. You could force people to use Yahoo! accounts, but what happens when they decide to block you?

Remember when you look at the specs, the actual game won't be coming out for a while. So it's probably not as bad as it seems.
...and nobody's gotten the Head of Vecna to work yet.
Hehe...the exact same thing happened to me, but I was sucked into FFXI instead.

...because asking people about Emacs isn't confusing enough already.
Note to women: buy more games. That producers will start to care. Well, care more, at least.
It's called Katamari Damashii. It's not that hard to remember. Especiallly when you have Google around.

Not in that order, of course.

Just a coincidence, but people born in 1986 will be 18 this year...
The second impact may have been in the Indian Ocean.
I always though the Second Impact was caused by one of the Angels...
No wonder I was so confused by the end.

Superman's suit was made from the blankets in the ship he arrived in. But why does that help They...umm...are just woven better.
