  1. No visuals? on Beer-Coated CDs are Optical Biocomputers · · Score: 2, Insightful
"...he spilled beer on his CDs and left them over night. The resulting fungus..."

I was expecting to see what the fungus looks like, and whether it could survive the high-speed spin in the CDROM drive, however all I found was a lame stock photo.

...all I can get from them is the company name: NCO. They won't tell me more about their company unless I tell who I am.

Sounds suspiciously like the Consumer Recreation Services (CRS) in The Game

Maybe you should give them a call!

    From LiveJournal.com:
"Joining the site is free if you're invited by a friend, and very inexpensive otherwise. Free users can upgrade their accounts for extra features."

So it is not free unless I am invited by a friend, right?

I have been running a blog site since 1999. Sometimes I ask myself "what am I doing this for?" But then I realized blogging is worth it as long as there is an audience. What you think is boring might be interesting to others. I will keep blogging as long as my friends keep visiting my site.

  6. A suggestion for Google on PA Child Porn-Blocking Law Challenged, Suspended · · Score: 2, Funny

Put Goatse as the search result for "child porn". It should give some permanent eye damage to the readers.

  7. Weird but fun on Wario Ware GameCube Craziness Explored · · Score: 3, Informative

I have tried the original Wario Ware on GBA, and it is quite a nice game indeed. It consists of dozens of simple yet addictive mini-games. The mini-games require no learning curve, you can pick it up easily during a coffee break. I sincerely welcome the multiplayer version, would be nice to play against my friends.

Thunderbird and Firebird are just the codenames for the development project. The final products will be integrated into Mozilla 1.6 Suite and called Mozilla Browser and Mozilla Mail.

  15. Outlook 97 on MS vs. Open Source Office Suite Compatibility · · Score: 4, Insightful

Word and Excel are fine in Office 97, but Outlook is not. Outlook 97 sucks, and Microsoft had to release Outlook 98 upgrade free for Outlook 97 users. There is still room for improvement even for Outlook XP, you will see some cool stuff in Outlook 2003.

  16. emulator? on PSP - Peripherals, Pride, And Prejudice · · Score: 1

Instead of using an emulator, perhaps they can simply use the Palm OS as the operating system for the PSP? That would immediately give it a huge selection of games and software.

  17. Windows Future Storage on How Do You Organize Your Data? · · Score: 2, Interesting

  18. SWT in JFC on Sun May Join Eclipse Project · · Score: 2, Insightful

  25. How about a combination of both? on Motion Capture Or Animation For Games? · · Score: 3, Insightful

Who says motion capture has to be disjointed and separated? If you insert appropriate animations between different captured actions, the result could look very smooth. Just because many games have crappy motion capture doesn't mean the technology is flawed, we are just waiting for someone to do a better job.
