Integrated PDA mobile phone isn't always the best solutions, that's why it isn't very popular yet. The best PDA phones on the market right now are Handspring Treos and O2 (Pocket PC Phone Edition). However, they aren't taking off due to form factor, ease of use, and battery life. Some people want an integrated device that does everything, but many would prefer a simple, small phone that does the job well.
Sega is a great game developer. When it is independent, it could create games for different devices. Now that Nokia purchased the mobile division, it will turn everything into proprietary that only works on expensive Nokia phones.
If you find the Windows API displeasing, you can choose to develop applications using the.Net Compact Framework. It has a completely new set of API, made specifically for mobile devices, and you have the option to use C# and VB.NET
Most people put their PDA in a case anyway, so in a way they are already skinnable. By the way, is it really all that difficult to create a good-looking PDA? So far only SONY seems to get it right.
Many people complain about the price of this PDA. Sure it is expensive, but it does cost a lot of money to develop and manufacture powerful hardware in such a tiny form. A 1GB MemoryStick is more expensive than a 80GB harddisk, but remember you can't put a harddisk in your wallet. Some people want a powerful PDA in their pockets and are willing to pay premium for it. If you don't care about size, keep your desktop and don't complain!
Most PCI sound cards have noise and interference problems. Try turning up the volumn and listen with a good headphone, the noise is very noticable. I don't understand why many people buy expensive PCI sound cards while a cheap USB card does the job better.
"...and with all the things that had to be cut, the "designers" made absolutely sure that Mai Shiranui's boobs still jiggled. And really, that's all that matters. "
Althought there are some Palm OS phones on the market, Palm OS is not really suitable for cell phones. The Palm OS interface heavily relies on the touchscreen, while most cell phones have only the numeric pad and a few buttons.
Currently the most popular mobile gaming platform is J2ME, but it is slow and has too many limitations. I guess we'll have to wait at least a few more years before mobile gaming gets mainstream.
I had the same concern but the article says: "...several prominent game companies are already signed on to develop games for the Helix, including Activision and Midway."
Now I am just waiting for Square Enix to join, but it probably won't happen.
Don't forget that your Palm is already a SD card reader. Just install Palm desktop on multiple machines then you can easily transfer files between them. Oh if you can a Tungsten T or Tungsten C, you can even transfer the files wirelessly.
The current maximum size of a MMC is 128MB, but most likely you can only find 64MB cards on the market, on the other hand you can easily find a 1GB SD card.
If you want to do some quick and dirty job, use PHP. For larger projects, JSP and J2EE make more sense. I don't see any valid reason to mix PHP and Java together at all.
Netscape Navigator 3.0 made the company famous, but that was long long time ago.
Netscape Communicator 4 gave the company a bad reputation. It was buggy, unstable, and with lots of proprietary "features," oh and the "blink" tag too.
Netscape 5 never existed, because it took too long to develop. And people are begining to forget the Netscape brand name.
Netscape 6 finally released, but it was not ready at all. Scared off even die-hard Netscape fans.
Netscape 7 released by AOL with AOL spyware and craps. Most people would rather use Mozilla.
With all its mistakes and bad reputation, don't you think it is better to get rid of the Netscape brand name?
Most people never even heard of Linux/GNU, let alone knowing the advantages. Your grandma probably have seen Microsoft advertisement before, but try asking her what GNU is. Unless you want to keep Linux to geeks, true marketing is necessary.
Now that Square Enix is one company, why doesn't it release Dragon Warrior for GBA? I know DW 1-3 has already been done on the GBC, so how about a new original one? By the way, I would rather see FF6 ported to the GBA instead of FF3.
"The penalties were hardly enough to break up a monopoly"
It is not illegal to have a monopoly, and the penalties are not designed to break up the monopoly. The court already decided NOT to break up Microsoft.
In Internet Explorer, unsigned ActiveX controls are disabled by default. And IE prompts you to accept signed ActiveX controls. Even Mozilla allows Java applets to run outside of the sandbox if the user accepts the prompt.
It had the most advanced graphics in video game at that time, end the ending was simply amazing. I still remember the music of the final boss!

... and realize you are the battery.
Handspring is a hardware company, and it uses the Palm OS.
Handspring already stopped making any new Visor sometime last year.

I love the author's sense of humour!

Actually it does include all the productivity (PIM) software. While being anti-productive at the same time.

Just hit "Pause" any time, and rotate yourself around the screen if you want.

Don't worry, we will then just refridgerate the whole outdoor too, and send the heat to outer space.

"Your current security settings prohibit running ActiveX controls on this page. As a result, the page may not display correctly."
If you don't believe, try it. And that happens on every single page you visit with ActiveX control, every time.
