If you disable ActiveX in IE, you will get a prompt from IE when you visit a webpage with ActiveX control. You have to press "OK" to dismiss the prompt, that's even more annoying than popup ads. That's why I use MyIE instead.
I went to Ocean Park in April, and thanks to SARS I didn't have to wait in line for any ride. It was interesting to see people wearing facemask in the park, and I even saw some people wearing mask to hike. Anyway, I would be less nervous if the government honestly reported SARS statistics.
Internet Explorer runs as a stand-alone process on Windows 2000/XP, it does not bring down the whole system when it crashes. In the worst case it brings down and automatically restarts Windows Explorer. By the way the latest version of IE (6.0sp1) is very stable, I haven't seem a single crash so far on my Windows 2003 server.
He was talking about iPaq, the Pocket PC PDA, not the Compaq desktop. It is definitely not old stuff, because HP never even announced to ship a Pocket PC with Linux pre-installed.
I live in Hong Kong and I don't think the reducing the price of the Xbox unit would attract new buyers. We need good games! Like many other game players in Asia, I care very little about Xbox's flagship 3d shooter Halo. Instead I want a good RPG like the Final Fantasy series, I want innovative games like Dance Dance Revolution. Show me some great games and I will buy the console for double the current price.
The previous treos are more focused on PDA functionalities. But Handspring figured out the phone market is much bigger, so this time around they designed a smaller, more phone-centric device. I believe they could only fit a low-res screen there, and by the way the low-res is more energy efficient.
I don't really understand the advantage of the slide-out, especially the one in Tungsten T. Yes it makes the device shorter, but at the same time it is thicker too, so it doesn't really save real estate. I would rather prefer a flip cover, as it protects both the screen and the keyboard.
I'd like to see your cheap card run my dual head setup at 4096x1536 in 32 bit @ 75Hz!
You are asking me to drive my Honda Civic @ 300mph. Nice if you have a Ferrari and like to drive that fast, but for me 70mph is enough. About the refresh rate issue, I had a SVGA monitor and my cheap card was able to display in 75Hz.
As an official distributor it is almost certain they will use DRM protected content, but I don't think anyone on Kazaa would like to re-distribute anything with DRM.
A few years back when I built my 60MHhz Pentium desktop, I specifically asked the shop to include the cheapest video card they had. And it turned out to be similar to the one your pointed out (PCI 1MB). I was running Windows NT 4.0 without any games installed, the cheap video card was simply enough for me. Anyway, my current PC is a laptop, so I don't get to choose the video card.
...because I don't play 3D games on PC. For the price of a high-end graphics card I can buy an Xbox or PS2 already, and they provide better gaming experiences. On the Windows desktop, 3D acceleration is completely unused, and many people spend money on expensive graphics cards for no reason. I am looking forward to seeing how Longhorn utilizes 3D acceleration for the next generation Windows UI.
When the sign gets implemented, I think we will be surprised by how we are being closely watched. But when we don't see a warning sign, can we really assume there is no camera?

Being standards compliant doesn't ensure my design will look right in Safari. Every browser has its own bugs and quirks, CSS2 is an established standard, but even Mozilla can't completely handle it. That's why it is important to test the design in different browsers.
I think it is fun to have a virtual asset and build it the way I like. However I don't think it is worth paying monthly fee. I am already paying monthly fee to host my blog site already. Can someone points me to a free virtual community if there is any available? I don't think it has to be in 3D.

I think Safari will gain popularity quickly, I would like my web pages to look good in that browser. However I only have a Windows box, is there anyway I can see how my web pages look in Safari while I am running Windows?

Maybe you will find out the answer in Matrix Revolutions.
Not exactly real-life, but it would be fun if I can do magic spells with a voice-recognition system.

Mozilla is not from Sun. It is from AOL/Netscape.
It is a requirement not a limitation. If you are really trying to avoid using any Microsoft service, then why play games on Windows?

Can't find a photo of it yet, but the article says "The seam between the two panels is less than 1 mm"

I bet Apple already knew IE would be gone on Mac OS, before starting to develop Safari.
