I know one of the gentoo developers and he has logs of the attack, and the attacker was using a compromised machine in Saudi Arabia for the hack. He actually left a trail in some of the files to say things like "jihad vs. gentoo and america" etc."

MAN! if the terrorists are in on this, and since this is obviously a microsoft plot microsoft must be terrorists....... I wonder if by mistake one of the times they tried running the ai, against all odds the orcs won:) I've never really read about the massive engine they used but I've heard a lot of funny stories
I'd have to dissagree I wouldn't pay $10 dollars for an old console game when I could stop by gamestop or cd tradepost and but a newer consle game for that same price, I would on the other hand pay $10 for unlimited games even though i of course would have to pay that every month.

well I don't know about that theory, I mean if there was a horible death scene at the end (one that actualy killed j-lo and ben for real.) then maybe at least a few people would download the ending if nothing else

I don't really think thats honestly how things work, it would be nice if it were but the way I see it you bought it on vinyl which means you have the right to the vinyl version much the same if you bought a game on pc you would have the rights to back it up and make copies for yourself, not that would not on the other hand give you the right to pirate the x-box version just becuase you own it on pc.
I'm not gonna get into the whole well vinyl sounds better or mp3 is lossy argument my point is you bought vinyl thats the only thing you really have the rights to, maybe I'm total offbase if so I'm sure I'll be modded into the dust.
slashdots being over-run by spam first aol now this, sounds like a good idea though hopefuly they will find out how to at least get rid of some of the spam, which by the way is getting very bad, I registered a new hotmail account the other day and normaly when you finish creating an acount there is one message, a welcome to hotmail from msn not this time nope there was two one was the welcome the other was a porn mail.....things are getting out of hand
microsoft took science for it's own use but....Acacia has a patent on a method for using science to do anything at all, so it's all worthless microsoft can't make any money off it
why would that be a bad thing....I could use a free router it'd make things much cheaper when sbc finaly gets dsl out where I live, imagine if aol entered the satelite internet bussiness, 1 million dishes sent out and they would keep sending new ones every few months that were newer versions.
Thing is IF they were to win this battle (acacia not the porn industry) where would they drawn the line? So many differnt people acording to their claims are infringing on their patents Nasa for one, all major internet news sources stream content over the internet too so where do you stop? Do you sue the government for infringing on your patents? Take down the news Media? This is a pretty good example of why the government should do some major changes on how patents work so they don't get abused like this.

I'm going to this movie opening night and I'm very excited I saw an ent in a preview the other day and I'm excited, though anytime I see lord of the rings now I keep thinking about the MTV video awards version with jack black

I was to be a sbc dsl user about a year ago, and I recently went to help my friend mike set up his dsl with sbc/Yahoo! while there is more software than the enternet 300 program that I had to load (now you have enternet 300 AND the connection manager) no biggie though becuase it all hides down in your task bar or system tray depending on how you set it up.
I don't think it's a real big "invasion of privacy" or even a major privacy cut for that matter I still use sbc/yahoo! dial-up and I have no complaint about it at all the only thing that they really want you to install for "added features" is the yahoo browser which hey if you can put up with msn explorer you can live with installing the yahoo browser
they should team up with these guys or these guys or even these guys becuase they have been doing lucas arts mods for ages
This could be a cool thing just so long as the lucas guys started to release bonus packs kinda like the Unreal guys, that and if it hasn't already happend a new big fluffy pack(aka bfp3) for jedi knight 2 if there isn't already one......

I wish I could get cable or dsl out here but I'm living in one of those nice digital voids where if you move a mile in any direction you can get broadband
I've gotten empty promises from the phone company saying we'll be expanding in a few months to your area off and on for the past year and a half and I'm yet to see anything, so just so long as whatever company that brings WiFi or a Ricochet-like internet into my area isn't a company like my phone company, I might get to get broadband sometime this century otherwise this time next century everyone on the planet will have broadband internet and this area will be the only place left still using dial up

you mean you use fat32 partitions in excess of 60GB :) fat only supports 7.8GB which I believe was the parents point

you may have beige but not I :) silver maybe, but I'd rather keep my 300fps in quake than have a beige box
