As a web developer myself, I think it's already way too messy. I think that what holds us back is politics. The same politics that gave us broken browsers during the 90s holds web standards back.
Look at Silverlight, for instance. It can do a lot, but M$ insists on locking down to only platforms that they bless.
You said something about Asian women. Personally, I believe that they are the most beautiful women in the world.
A while back, I hatched a plan to attend graduate school in Hawaii because there are so many Asian women living there.
Unfortunately, that didn't turn out well for me because not only are Asian women there by and large native-born Americans who grew up speaking English, but the local people there have insular social attitudes in general.
A friend of mine suggested to me that a foreign-born Asian girlfriend/wife might be more suitable for me for the reasons you described.
I actually met my (Asian) wife the year after I moved away from Hawaii.
Thanks for giving a great response to the OP and sharing your story with us.
You may have heard this already, but in case you haven't, here are some things to might want to have checked by LabCorp (or whichever laboratory you get your blood tests done thru)
(1) CD57 (Google Lyme Disease). This measures a specific subset of white blood cells that is suspected to be supressed by some chronic illnesses. (2) check your testosterone levels, free and total, sex hormone binding globulin, luteinizing hormone, and estrogens. When these things are out of whack, you can feel like crap.
There is a lot of information out there. I hope this might be helpful to you.
I've done work at a government contractor. Unfortunately, the federal government likes to promote drug testing, and so they push for companies that bid on contracts to do drug testing as a matter of course.
This is already done in the state of Hawai'i. Agricultural regulations prohibit passengers from taking certain items to the rest of the country. Last time I was there, the Honolulu International Airport had a separate concourse for flights within the state where passengers were not subject to agricultural inspection.
That's too bad for Goodwill. For what it's worth, the local pawnbrokers here in my neck of the woods all deal in used PCs, so if you're feeling charitable, you could sell your old PC to a pawnbroker and donate the proceeds to charity.
Neil Strauss wrote a book about dating and sex called "The Game". He claims it to be a true story.
From what he said in the book he would definitely vouch for what you said about "Mother Nature". He advises young men who are told "no" when trying to initiate sex that oftentimes, all it takes is to back off and wait a few minutes for the woman to initiate sex instead.
He calls this "token resistance". He says that women have been taught to feel ashamed of having sex, so they will say "no" to sex before saying "yes" to sex. This way, they can feel less shame as they submit themselves to Mother Nature's program.
There was a film about a man doing that. I forget the name of the film. The man was very wealthy, but hid his wealth from the women he dated to avoid gold-diggers. On the day he planned to reveal his wealth to his fiance, she won a large amount of money in a casino.
As a sponsor of a foreign born wife who immigrated to the United States, I will attest that according to my own research, it is correct that there is a multi-year long waiting period to be considered for a green card. However, I am not aware of any nationality-based determination of the waiting period.
I met my wife on Plenty of Fish. My brother met his wife on Craigslist, of all places.
You just have to be smart about it. If you think there are a lot of fake profiles on Plenty of Fish, they've got nothing on the fake profiles on Craigslist.
You're looking at an up-hill battle. I lived in Hawai'i about eight years ago when the then-Congressman (now-Governor) Neil Abercrombie was running for re-election. He was invited to a debate with his challenger. You could see in his eyes and his body language a raging contempt for his soft-spoken challenger and his ideas.
This man is a fighter and he won't go down without a fight if he wants this.
If you're a Democrat and like Ron Paul, be sure to register as a Republican this year if it's required to vote for him in the primary/caucus in your district.
Yeah, as far as religion goes, marriage is not considered a religious institution for some religions. Buddhism is probably the most famous example of this.

Damn, you're giving me flashbacks to Ubuntu Unity! It couldn't possibly be *that* bad!
I've been there, too.

In my experience, jellyfish have a nasty sting.

Can we please quit with this nonsense that the problem with American education is that we don't spend enough money on it?

I think that it's quite an interesting insight.
I was also rejected from eHarmony back in the day. I am atheist/agnostic, and at the time I filled out the survey, I was also severely depressed.

I strongly suggest that you start with "The World's Most Misunderstood Programming Language: http://javascript.crockford.com/javascript.html. And then, watch his YUI videos.
Don't forget the functional programming way!
Intteresting you should bring that up. In the US, the Constution specifically prohibits Congress from passing any Bill of Attainder.

I learned on C++ in my first year CompSci courses. What do you propose would be better and why?
Douglas Crockford says that Cross Site Scripting is abbreviated XSS, because CSS would be confused with "Crappy Style Sheets".
