  1. UHF on What's Your Favorite Underappreciated Movie? · · Score: 1

Call me crazy, but I'd have to pick UHF...
Most of the other movies are somewhat appreciated (eg Army of Darkness is pretty popular).
There is just something about UHF's pure 80's weirdness, the movie features Weird Al, lame jokes, and some pretty crappy 3-d animation- how can you beat that?
    here is Eberts review...
Well I dunno... maybe the movie does suck, but it has Michael Richards, and some pretty classic moments.

Yes contaminents kill off the micro-organisms in wastewater, but that isn't really news to anyone- most modern industrialized nations have been treating waste water for a very long time. It's a very simple process, and in the end if its done right you will be pumping nearly pure water back into a water source like a river. The left over sludge is sold to farmers typically who use it as a fertilizer, some sludge is also kept just in case a contaminant does get into to the system, so you can restart your waste water plant.

I read the article- but I also know the history of Microsoft, and I know better than to assume this is all about the games. you are naive to think that. Sega is merely a pawn, and if it wasn't financially hurting it wouldn't be kissing everyones feet- Microsoft merely wants to undermine their competition- if they didnt- they would have been in the Arcade business 20 years ago.
Gamecube is selling more than Xbox's in big markets, and Microsoft doesn't get why- so they are going to pick away at Nintendo and try to push them out of market.

Nintendo/Namco/Sega - have their Triforce arcade system based on gamecube arcitecture, and I think Microsoft is just scared and lost, as usual.
I don't think they actually have a solid plan for what they are doing- just release a few arcade games to push out Triforce's dominance, and in turn take away some thunder from beaneath the wings of Nintendo.

The "e-mail" is just too long to be real-- look at this logically: An agent of the press has a very strict deadline, why on earth would they be writing a boring, drawn out e-mail to his/her friends-- given this person actually went to the conference, they would most likely be more focused on the interaction with people rather than with politics.
The way it was written makes it sound like propoganda: first the author is talking about sex education as a right, then moves on to how no one liked Ashcroft... why does anyone care?
This author must be very jaded, why else would he/she write a page and a bit about politics to friends? I think I'd be going more into depth with my experiences just meeting some of these people, like: "Bill Clinton was X kind of a person, which I never expected, and he said this, and did that blah blah blah" - you get the point...
If this were real the author would be more excited about meeting these people than whether or not the people viewed sex education as a right.... I just have a feeling that any normal person attending this conference would write an e-mail on the trival things they experienced, which would have been much more interesting to his/her friends than leftist politics.

First off- the (nintendo®) Logo on the front is backwards when the screen is in the open position, this is the same mistake that Apple made with it's powerbooks and eventually fixed Pic
Second- the shoulder buttons are upside down! I assume they did this so you could check to see which button was R and Which was L when you flip the device towards you... but really is that necessary? Most people, even children know their left from their right hands- and even if they don't they somehow adapt and figure out what each button does... anyways perhaps it's only me but the buttons seem upside-down Pic
Lastly- a dimmer on the backlight sounds like a good idea.
It looks great and I really look forward to getting my hands on one- nice job Nintendo!

I know this might be nit picking- but the XBOX is just fugly- its big, and bulky and the control is just not pretty one bit, its like a crossbreed between a dreamcast and a ps2 controller. I think make the Xbox prettier...and use the japanese controllers and you are starting to get somewhere.
Green on black just seems toxic- I expect some toxic nerve gas to come spweing out the vent that will make me buy MS products. Oh well, Microsoft is learning, this is their first real console... problem is-- for what you pay for the thing, it should look amazing- like the mock up they had that was shaped in a silver x... now that would have been cool! the PS2 looks great.. on the outside, and the gamecube is good design to the extreme.. even the dreamcast was better looking than the xbox...Oh well by the time Microsoft is ready to compete ps3 and nintendo's new console will be on the market...maybe microsoft will pull a SNES?
