After over 3 years with my (Kenyan) ex, I'd seen enough. No small number of times I was in the company of a roomful of African friends and the topic changed to AIDS. The overwhelming concensus was that condoms *themselves* were the cause of AIDS, and were provided by the White man (ahem - that's me) as part of plot to infect Africans. Literally that the plastic itself was tainted w/ the virus. They actually blamed condoms for spreading AIDS. And these were those living here in North America - can only speculate on what rumours actually float around the "Motherland".

*NOT* a troll I wouldn't believe it myself unless I'd seen it personally on numerous occasions.

I've seen a few of these postings, and have to say something.

I'm no scientist, all I know is that my cat fell from my apartment on the 17th floor and was really fucking dead after that. Where she landed there was no big mess, no blood coming out of her mouth, really pretty clean so I guess her landing was perfect. But at that height it didn't matter.

Obviously my one cat "study" isn't the scientific method, but if your average living mammal falls from 17 floors up, they will mostly fucking die and skyscrapers are even higher. I've smacked mice and rats off roofs about 50 feet high with a baseball bat and they survived and limped away, but I don't know about cats falling from skyscrapers.

Maybe you're pissed at my dumb reply, i didn't mean to be dumb. But when I connect to my isp, they get my mac address and account name/pass. Those are unique and generally will be associated with my (infected) pc for quite some time.

Why would they blacklist using the ip address (assuming dynamic), when they know they will be assigning it to any number of other users virtually at random?

For an isp to consider the ip address as the identifier for specific workstations, when they've got far more specific identification available, seems moronic. If ip's in this case are static, obviously will work fine, maybe they are in the Netherlands, I don't read Dutch.

Please tell me where I'm wrong if you feel like it, I must be, or this idea is bullshit. That's all I meant.

When I was done, my manager came by to inspect it and and was quite impressed, but I cringed when the launch screen came up with the usual "Not guaranteed for fitness or any purpose" or whatever.

Then he notices the note at the bottom of the browser about Free Software, he asks me how much it would cost to buy licenses, and my stupid answer is "It doesn't cost anything, (yeah yeah my time) it's free!"

His reply: "I don't trust free."

I disagree personally, but this is our corporate environment.

People will log on to p2p movie nets to contribute their best characters and best lines in realtime, some will specialise in effects like weather, mist, etc. Clans will form, you've got a guy who's wicked with facial gestures, another who bangs out the perfect tunes at just the right time.

Movies will become dynamic, there's no reason the same story should unfold the same way more than once. Themes and plots will evolve with every viewing.

I hope movies become interactive events, an experience that everyone leaves feeling like they had a role, because they did.

The folks who are likely to mug you recognise a very clear profile when you've got on particularly fancy gear, and a dude with an ipod also tends to broadcasts body language that they pick up like a homing beacon and they'll be circling like vultures in no time. On the other hand, I can't imagine anyone with money for an ipod in my humble hood so this must apply to muggings pulled by bored suburban mini-eminems.
