No. Nothing smells on ANY side of this, except maybe Wilson's.
Wilson was on SugarDaddyMeet, which is a male version of Cougars. The girl told her counselor who then told police.
By the time that police found out, he was in Taiwan, so, they were waiting for him to come back. However, he was told by somebody that he would be arrested for pedophilia as soon as he got off the plane in America, so he drop his flight home. City Police notified FBI, who then had his passport canceled so that he could not leave Taiwan and go other places. He apparently TRIED to go to another nation, and was caught because of that.

BTW, nothing says that he asked for a 16 y.o. girl. Supposedly, he wanted a just turned 17 y.o. to play sugar daddy to.

  8. Uh no. Schmidt is no longer with Google and has not been for some time.

  9. Uh, if you think that industry wants the controls that CHina has in place, could only mean that you are either not working in industry, or you work for the Chinese gov. The Chinese controlled internet was NOT built for industry. There, the gov is picking winners/losers, of which the ONLY none-Chinese winners are short-lived. Once a Chinese company starts competing, then Chinese gov interferes with the none-Chinese company and makes sure that sales drop. If not, they find a reason to block them.

  12. It is expensive to build brick/mortar from which to sell. OTOH, selling via internet is dirt cheap. The west is still locked into mentality that distributors and/or box stores are main sources. IOW, we are throwing our money away on middle men. Then add in the fact that china pays less to mail small items to most other nations, than a developed nation pays to mail in their own city. China will want control as trump/GOP try to stop china from being unfair, but offhand, I think trump is being just as unfair as china.

  13. Re:The whole idea of the Certificate Authority suc on ICANN Sets Plan To Reinforce Internet DNS Security (networkworld.com) · · Score: 1

Actually, I am pushing my CONgress critter to understand that we need VETTED Certificates/PPK. The only way to do that is to have brick/mortars that will vet an ID, and then either issue a certificate/private key, while serving up the public key, OR even take the public key/certificate from the vetted person . When you think about it, this does not belong in gov purview, NOR in individuals controls (that is, you vet a friend and your friend falsely vetted somebody else because they were not paying attention).

There is really only choice on this, and it would the postal mails from each nation.

With this approach, then gov, businesses, social media sites, etc can KNOW that if you are claiming to be someone, then you are them. For example, on /., it should be possible for me say no more ACs that are below a certain level (say 4). Now if I register a login, I should start at say 1, and increase if I am being modded up. Then if I am a login that also gave in my cert, I could then start at say 3 or even 4. Why start somebody that much higher? Because if they screw it up, then it is their only vetted login. They do not get to have multiple vetted logins. As such, they have a lot riding on their postings to make sure they are polite, etc.

Same way with ads. If I was Facebook/Google and I get a political ad, I want to know that it is an American company, with a vetted American backing it (i.e. somebody has to be responsible) . If they can not produce both, then no posting the ad.

Look at Boeing's 777. It was designed with Genetic Algorithms and made it the most efficient wing by a LONG shot (for when it was done).
Now, AI is being used for car driving, determining medical conditions (and better than most docs), etc. From a military POV, car driving could be tank and ship control. Diagnosing medical conditions, could be battle patterns to figure out strategies. etc.

    2'nd paragraph said it all:

For example, it is lawful for Michigan to require food labels that specifically identify certain animal parts, if they are present in the product, because the state law applies to food produced in Michigan as well as food imported from other states and foreign countries; the state law would violate the Commerce Clause if it applied only to imported food or if it was otherwise found to favor domestic over imported products. Likewise, California law requires milk sold to contain a certain percentage of milk solids that federal law does not require, which is allowed under the Dormant Commerce Clause doctrine because California's stricter requirements apply equally to California-produced milk and imported milk and so does not discriminate against or inappropriately burden interstate commerce.[2]

Just as I have said. If the tax is applied against ALL CONSUMED GOODS/SERVICES, then it is fine. The only ones that it is not applied to, is anything made/services in CA, and exported, would not be subject to that tax, which makes perfect sense.

In addition, they wanted to change from a pure turbine drive, to a turbine/gen-electric drive so that electric weapons could be added down the road (esp. railguns, which we need).

As to the F-35, that is a PURE cluster-fuck that should have died. L-mart pushed their CONgress critters (including mine, who is Coffman). to keep it going. And the idea of it now replacing the warthog is a joke. That is truly turning our pilots into cannon fodder.

Luckily Californians are all in favor of wealth redistribution from the rich to the poor.

What???? Nothing lucky or ideal about 'wealth redistribution'. It is entirely one thing to have a progressive tax system, but another to have a 'wealth redistribution'. Likewise, it is one thing to have spending on say a single pay medical system, BUT, even then, it should be limited to contagious diseases (which helps all of society), perhaps accidents, peds, general surgs (appendix, etc), pregnancy, OB, etc. IOW, it should take care of basics and esp anything that can be spread through society. What it should NOT include are things like Cancer, Diabetes, old age, plastic surgery, etc. For that, let ppl get their own insurance.

All in all, the gov should not be dealing with such things. It should in general be limited to the point where it helps society, not takes over society.
