That would depend on if it's based on the original Sims or Sims 2. Because Sims 2 has weekends, though strangely you never get stuck working overtime...

Can you imagine what the process of starting up a console game would be like if you had to update discs like you suggest? Even if it was only once a year. And I'm going to assume you didn't mean for PC or a console with HDD.

    2004) Load UnoriginalSportsGame2005

2005) Load UnoriginalSportsGame2005, wait for prompt, insert UnoriginalSportsGame2006-Upgrade

2006) Load UnoriginalSportsGame2005, wait for prompt, insert UnoriginalSportsGame2006-Upgrade, wait for prompt, insert UnoriginalSportsGame2007-Upgrade

And so on, or maybe you'd have to start with the upgrade disc first. But given that people will pay 50$ to just buy the game over again, what's really the point? Also, there's no profit in it for them to update the rosters since people will continue to buy their games even if the roster is outdated and then still buy the new version (with rosters that are probably already outdated by opening day) the next year.

Though I totally agree, don't buy EA games. Not even because of the monopolistic practices or poor treatment of their employees, but just because their games aren't that good. Though that is an obvious symptom of both of those things.

I don't see a problem with that. If 90% of the people I know are idiots, then I have no problem telling them so. But saying that I should be pro-m$ because 90%+ of people use it is like saying I should be pro-christian because the majority of people in america are. And that's not only ridiculous but extremely dangerous.

The Mac has plenty of decent software, especially software that the elderly would be using (online banking, email, web browsing, watching movies).

All but one of those is a function of a webbrowser. And none of them are tasks that are not accomplished equally well on any platform (except windows since you WILL get owned). Try again.

Maybe it doesn't have a terrific array of games and specialty softare, but somehow I don't expect Granddad to be hosing down aliens with a flamethrower in Halo2.

I would certainly hope he wouldn't be playing Halo 2 since it sucks. But it's nice to see that you put your toy mac in the same category as the kiddie console xbox, since that is the only place you can play Halo 2.

You mac lunatics always go "that lame thing does exactly what we condescend old people to want/need/be-capable-of-using so they shouldn't get it they should pay more to get a mac with its crappy interface and awesome selection of software if it starts with a lower-case 'i' or is a game written 5 years ago!"

It's really too bad I don't have mod points, since you certainly deserve the +flamebait/troll. But how is it a discussion about anything except that guy who wrote the article and microsoft being morons? Unless the "how to use a mouse" video plays automatically when the computer starts up there really is no point in it, since you would have to use the mouse to view it (even if it were a popup window like you get the first time starting xp).

So in this case a book is definitely a better solution since even a moron knows how to use a book, though they might need pictures to understand it, it just wouldn't be a video. Which was sort of implied that everyone understands that a book and a video are not the same thing in the original post.

From now on I think you should steer quite wide of any discussion involving "technical merits" since you obviously don't understand anything technical or of merit. Thanks for playing though.
