"Do people still fall for this rubbish?"
There's a thing called google. You can search for things and find all sorts of info. The answer is yes. We even had some lady a few years back in my state keep sending money over and over that the FBI said they'd charge her with some crime if she didn't stop. She just refused to believe it was a scam.
I've even watched an episode of Judge Joe Brown where you could tell the lady getting sued fell for it. She had a relative die and needed to pay some money to get the inheritance. So she borrowed, and kept borrowing, money from a co-worker until he got sick of it and sued her to get it back. She said everything but that she got the info about the relative from an email but it was enough for me to figure it out, even though the judge didn't.
Now consider this. This scam has been going on for longer than the internet. Why would you think it still exists if people didn't fall for it? I can't tell who is more stupid, the people that fall for it or those that can't figure out they can spend 5 seconds to do a little research to come up with an answer to if people still fall for it.
There's already laws to stop mining stuff like this. They can't just grab a planet/moon/asteroid. On the other hand, a private citizen can and someone probably already owns it.
Yeah, I'm really shocked that a Chinese company is doing environmental damage. Then I read the real joke, 'Apple is committed to driving the highest standards of social responsibility throughout our supply base.' I guess that's what call the purpose of suicide nets.
You're acting as though system/network admins are usually qualified and know what's going on. I usually see guys that talk a lot as if they know what they're doing but don't actually understand what they're saying and rely on people lower on the totem pole to actually get anything done. Now you just have to rely on those guys to know what they're doing which isn't always the case.
Seriously, this is a stupid idea. Then it turns everything into a new question of, "What time would you consider afternoon to be where you are so we can have our meeting?" It's not like this is going to eliminate jet lag or anything. Every time you travel someplace new, it's a game of what the hell do these people consider daytime hours?
The problem is that while you may live longer, that longer life is more years that you end up in a nursing home pooping yourself. Wouldn't you rather die sooner instead of being a batshit, senile, old fool for 3 more years that the staff hates, abuses and steals from?
I hated how current cell phones finally started moving towards using a standard headphone jack. I hate not having to buy proprietary things, like headphones, just because some company want to have similar standards with the other guys.
Don't worry. Jobs won't have any problem making sure the government won't have trouble getting user info off the phones. If he supported privacy, the government simply wouldn't allow them.
Setting up the software based on the specific type of video card you're running plus getting the connection setup through the firewall to download new blocks is something even people trying to do, have trouble with, let alone some gay trojan.
"had just accepted a job in the network-security division of a Seattle software company."
"I didn't have time to set up the wireless network in my old apartment," he says. "I was working 18-hour days so I just told my wife to go to Best Buy and pick up a router. She installed it, hit next, next, finish, and boom, that was it. We lived in a very upscale building, there was no riffraff. We just assumed we didn't have anything to worry about."
Yes, this is the man that I want working network security. Nope, there's no possible way that this shows any incompetence on his part.
Why should the browsers have any extra extensions installed? We're testing the browsers and not the extensions. Also, IE 9 can filter out things using the same lists AdBlock Plus does and it does so without having to install a third party extension.
...is make it not such a memory hog. I don't use add ons, other than ad block and it's always been a fat, bloated hog. Right now, I'm sitting around my average 600MB for a freaking web browser.
Oh boy, if we do this, we'll get rich. Read and do research? You're crazy, bub. I don't need to do any of that. I just need to sit back and let the money flow in. While I'm at it, I'll also sign up for Groupon. I heard I'll get some crazy business out of it. No need to plan or do any research for that either. The money just jumps straight into my wallet without any effort. After this I have two more plans and then I'll retire in my 30s. I'm going to make money by going to garage sales and selling things I bought cheap for hundreds, if not thousands of dollars on ebay. When I'm done with that, I'll make money by putting ads in newspapers.
How is the being the majority, not dominating?

And how many of these women are ones that did something with computers decades ago yet still claim they're IT experts even though they've never kept up with technology? That's the type of majority I've run across in my career at different companies. A handful of competent ones and then the old ones that stay where they are and can't understand anything new because they refuse to learn because they seem to think they don't need to keep up with anything. Those are the ones that still call help desk because they need someone to plug in their keyboard for them. It's always an excuse though about why they can't do it but they always have an excuse.
...you just broke up with her now and severed contact with the friends you want to introduce to Star Trek aka showing them how nerdy you are.

...whatever that means but it's not a military style date.
The tablets that have to be cracked, in order to function properly, are clearly going to be the leaders of the market.

Seriously, after all the discussions on the theory of evolution, you'd think people would know the difference between a hypothesis and a theory.
I see some author finally got around to seeing The Day the Earth Stood Still.

You just need an unlocked phone that supports the network that you can put your SIM into. So that person can pick what they want.

Those stories were about fake Apple stores.
People type their PIN when they use a debit card at places like 7-11. The real trick is to get the card.

But if the other browsers can't compete in the same way, by using a similar mode, then they've still lost.
The beauty is that you can always say "Next year will be the year of the linux desktop" because you can't prove a negative.
comes around. I'm finding it hard to find sympathy for companies that do things like this, no matter who it is.
