You shouldn't use email for large attachments anyway. You are blocking up mail servers with large files. The mail has to stop at servers on the way to it's destination. If you really need to send large files, use FTP or some kind of IM software that supports file transfers. "large attachments" size depends on who you talk to, but I'd say for dialup not to send files larger than 2 or 3 megs. Anything more than that and it jsut takes too long.
Also, to get around your problem, use a provider that has webmail. Then you can see the messages before you download the attachments.
1) Microsoft loses anti-trust suit and has to pay consumers 2) Lindows makes a site so people can easily buy lindows products, on top of an EXISTING business where people can..... already buy lindows products. 3) PROFIT!!!!
I don't see any missing steps, It's kind of underhanded, and if it was microsoft benefitting from linux I'd be pissed, but I really don't see what the problem is.
I have read articles on forgery. Sometimes they will take a lesser denomination of bill, say $1 or $5, and bleach them. Then you print on that. Same feel, new denomination.
If my Apex DVD player breaks, it can be repaired. If the DVD drive breaks, it is standard PC equipment, it doens't use a proprietary drive. If the logic board breaks, then I still have a DVD drive that could be installed in a PC. How many brand names can that be said of?
My old sharp DVD player was ass. It refused to play burned ANYTHING. No CD's, no VCD's, hence it was not very useful to me. I spent less money for a more capable player. If the brand names would make a USEFUL player that wasn't locked I would buy one. The Apex is 100x better. The interface is shitty, I could have designed a better one, but it's not hard to use, just a little strange.
Shouldn't this be the hidden cost of ALL electronics? Doesn't the author admit that ALL these electronics are being made in the same shops in china? The only difference being the more expensive brand name stuff gives more money to the parent company?
As much as we would miss it, porn is not THAT important.
Yeah, so I have like 300 gigs in the house, probably only 50 of that is important work or personal related stuff. The rest is anime, porn, video and games.
When my girlfriend and I go on long distance drives, she brings her laptop so she can watch DVD's and play games. Usually she wears headphones. How is this distracting to me? It isn't. I probably couldn't even see the screen at the angle I am sitting while driving. This is a stupid law, and I hope it doesn't come to florida.
Florida actually just passed a USEFUL driving law, which is people over 80 have to pass eye exams again to keep their liscenses. 80 is too old I think, it should be younger than that, but it's a step in the right direction, and it WILL get some dangerous drivers off the road.
As a TIVO/ReplayTV virgin, how does the commercial skipping operate? Does it skip a certain amount of time ahead? Does it somehow use motion compensation to detect frame changes and stop fast forwarding when the scene has changed a significant amount? Are commercials just a set amount of time and I've never noticed it all these years? Is it more like a VCR system where you have to fast forward and then curse when you went too far, and then it uses scene changes to go back? Any ideas?
Yeah, because going to clubs on X or LSD just makes people want to go out and rob a convenience store for cash. And when was the last time you heard about domestic abuse related to psychadelic drugs?
Not a 2003 game, but a great game none-the-less, and one of the first few games to come out for PS2.
Klonoa 2, and it's ultra rare prequel for the PS1, Klonoa.
2D scrolling (side mostly, with some up and down). GREAT game. First game my g/f ever beat. (with some help, the last level requires quite a bit of timing and skill)
Ok, so it's not an "original" game as the poster says, but good games get sequels. That's just how it goes.
I got a generic BT848 card with an RCA video in and a 5V DC output on it. No vendor name. The little camera that came with it says US Robotics, but there is nothing about this card/camera combo on their site. The Linux 848 drivers worked well (once I figured out that it ran in NTSC Japanese format), but for the longest time I could only use it in Linux. The btwincap drivers work under win2k.
...can be bad because of its lack of noise, there's less warnings to the pedestrians that the bus is coming. It may seem like a silly problem, but the next time you walk on the streets, check to see how often you use the sound as a cue to determine when a car is coming. Of course, you'd still look to be sure, but for jaywalkers, it could be a bad thing.
That's why they always tell little children to always look both ways before crossing the street. Someone needs to go back to kindergarten so the rest of us can progress in the world.
I'm not sure, but from what it looks like in the picture, only the rear wheels have the in-wheel motors. Thus, the driver doesn't have to overcome the gyroscopic effect of the wheels when turning, but the bus itself will overcome it for the rear wheels (the friction of the tires and the momentum bus will do it).
The engine just charges the batteries. I don't remember if the article stated this, but I >THINK what they mean by magnetic brakes isn't that magnets pull in the brake pads, but it uses regenerative braking. That is, the resistance to the wheels is created by converting the kinetic energy of the wheels back into electricity.
If you have ever been to a decent science museum, they will have a little generator toy with a hand crank that has a light hooked up to it. The light bulb has a power switch on it. When the switch is off, it is easy to turn the wheel. When the switch is on, and the generator can power the light bulb, it is much harder to turn the crank. You feel the resistance of pushing the electricity through the wire and powering the light bulb. IANAE (engineer) but I think regenerative braking works this way. You brake and it allows current through to charge the battery, creating resistance in the motor.
And there are still useful parts in a 486 and Pentium 100. Take all the jumpers, LEDs, and screws. Doesn't hurt to have spares. And if you are into modding, may as well take the fans out of the power supply and off the chip (if there is one, P1's didn't require active cooling), and if it's not an ATX power supply, cut off the molex connector wires where they go into the PSU. You can make your own Y cables or splice off them to power various things.
If the case is ATX, but the inside is junk, you can out out the handy jigsaw and cut out the motherboard tray and backplane where the cards attach. Put them in a $15 aluminum/wood briefcase with the sides cut out, and you have a sweet looking PC for LAN party usage, or even a poor-man's lunchbox PC if you have the cash to mount an LCD in the topside.
Bullshit. A monitor is never useless. You can always go multimonitor on win98 and up and with X. There is no reason someone wouldn't want a monitor. I make my family members hold on to the old one when they replace one, you never know when one will fail. My girlfriend's monitor is starting to die, it has smudged/darkened grey streaks across the screen. It's a 19" though, and I don't have anything that big to replace it with:)

That said, I am moving back to Ireland in a year or so to persue a career as a craft brewer in Dingle
You'll be missed, flamebait.

Mod parent -3 (SHORTsighted, not inSIGHTful)

worst.... movie.... ever
Can someone look at that link and say if it is NSFW? I clicked it and saw a very porn looking face. Closed the window really quick.
Shhhh! You'll wake the lawyers!

"This is Konami's famous BEMANI series!"
"Give it your best!"
Great game. Vaguely related to Dance Dance revolution. And it is going to have sequels. Or add ons. Or something.

You got me. How much more efficient are hybrids than traditional gas? Maybe they mean 60% more efficient than traditional.

RTFA, it says there is no drivetrain. Everything is in wheel, it is more efficient that way. No gear changing, less heat loss.
:)
Stop contributing to heat death!
It sure does count. Otherwise you have to start with linux kernel 2.2.19, and upgrade form there.

Wow, $54 to open a case and pop in a battery? WHAT A FUCKING DEAL! And I thought the $75 Best Buy used to charge to install memory was a great idea.
