But still, my Action Item Number One for Star Trek is "Fire Rick Berman and Brannon Braga immediately, and make sure they never have anything to do with Star Trek again."

I do wonder why Berman and Braga are still around. The fans hate them... but then, the fans have hated Enterprise for the last three years, and Paramount didn't listen then either. It's too bad, because with Coto running the show it has gotten much more interesting. I'm not saying it's great, but I've actually looked forward to new episodes this season.

Why haven't B&B been fired? It's certainly not because of the stellar (har har) ratings they've brought in.

While this is an amusing story, I have my doubts. It took several months to get the results back? I'm no archaeologist, but this reeks of urban legend. Really, what kind of test takes several months? Wouldn't the police have done their own analysis? Did they look at dental records or anything? Wow, the more I think of this, the more ridiculous it seems.

I think you're wrong about the Microsoft decision process - "If...this concept will make them more money...". Sender-ID would not make them any money; I very much doubt that anyone is going to migrate from Linux to Windows just to get the supposed benefits of Sender-ID! That's not what its for. Breaking interoperability is a corporate goal for Microsoft, because interoperability allows competitors to survive.

And if its competitors fail to survive, Microsoft gets more market share, thus getting more money. Ergo, Sender-ID is indeed intended to make them money.

I think someone in one of those links in the story got two different unsolicited emails from the Dean campaign. I get three different ads for penis pills every frickin' day. We're far from a crisis point here. If the campaign is responding on the issue (and they are, according to more recent posts on spamvertized) we probably won't have a problem in the near future.

Sure, but if you get two unsolicited mails from each candidate, those mails will start to add up. Therefore, we should not tolerate it at all, or it will just get worse.

Everything you have said is correct, but does not contradict the original statment. Yes, if B is false, A is false. HOWEVER, just because B is true does not necessarily mean that A is true! The original statment '"A implies B" does not mean "B only if A"' is still correct. You said yourself that A is not a necessary condition of B, so I don't understand why you are still arguing. ~B->~A is not the same as B->A.
