And if he's responding to a domestic violence call, he wants to get there ASAP, but not necessarily warn the person that they're coming, so they can be witnesses (victims are often reluctant to press charges). There are valid reasons, believe it or not, and domestic violence is one of the most common calls for an officer to go on.
My only complaint is that despite having three interfaces, you can't have all three connected to different computers at the same time. That's just too much to ask for I guess. Time for a standalone 4-drive bay, methinks.
Umm... duh? They're all just different interfaces to the same controller of the same physical drive. It's not like it's a network controller with a network filesystem such as SMB or whatever, something that's made to take requests from multiple sources. If you want to use something like that, get a NAS.
Most of us also had a knee-jerk reaction against the DMCA. Are you going to consider that on it's merits, too? Just because a reaction is knee-jerk doesn't mean it's wrong.
It depends entirely on your display. On LCD's, especially lower resolution ones, ClearType/font hinting makes things readable, even when scaled way down.
Wait, what? I certainly hope that you weren't directing that at me, and rather at the parent of my post. My grammar isn't impeccable, but it's far from "not much better" than that of the starter of this thread.
Welcome to understanding my point. The parent to my post (bberens) was claiming that his monitor, not his TV, was set to a low resolution. Whetehr that's true or not, it's not normal, and thus the display is destined for only TV use in the immediate future, and not laptops or flat-panel displays for computers.
And meanwhile, my 14" display is 1400x1050, and my 20" display is 1680x1050. It's too low of a resolution for it's size to be anything BUT a TV monitor.
So... if I recycle, I can afford to throw more shit into the neighborhood stream? You realize that argument is bullshit, right? Just because he pays more doesn't mean he is doing a better job. He's still using more energy per square foot of space than most American homes, with absolutely no reason to do so other than "I've got the money!"
Ummm... he was typing in a Bostonian-style accent (some comedian is famous for the Hot-cha-cha-cha-cha meme as well, I can't remember who). Oily is how the word "early" sounds when it's pronounced as such. But hey, go ahead and feel free to misunderstand the joke... just don't drag the rest of us into the ignorance.
It's not. But I have better things to do, like actually use my computer and not worry about having to recompile when a security update comes down the line.
Naah. I don't even own an Apple, but I'd bet that they think that people might be putting off a purchase because they know that a big release is around the corner, kinda like people did with Vista (even though it's a dud) or telling people to wait until Ubuntu 7.04 is released rather than downloading and installing 6.10, as that's supposed to happen soon, etc. It's pretty standard in all tech purchases, if there's an upgrade around the corner, wait until it's released to upgrade and get the most for your money. But I guess the mods just like brainless Apple-bashing. (Mmmm, applesauce!)
When you get your third new PC, put Ubuntu on the old one. See how snappy it feels, and how long it stays good. I know that my "old" P4 based desktop is kinda slow by modern standards, but damn if it's not fast as hell under Linux, especially since Linux doesn't become useless when you're running a heavy processing job, you can still surf the web or type up a document while something else is processing. The whole thing just feels snappier, even on older hardware.

And a grampar too, assuming my solipsism is wrong and you actually do exist ;)

So buy some of the books online, and sell them to your fellow students at half the bookstore price. There's money to be made, son.

To more effectively karma-whore, you should first consider learning the base skill of paragraph-whoring :)

Screw that. Give me Satan any day.
Your use of "you're" is your mistake, though.
Use more LED's That was hard, wasn't it?

For about a week and a half.
It is quite obvious that none of that remaining 25% of your time was spent in English class...

Several? Sounds like you need to institute a "sippy cups only" policy for coffee near instruments.

Why not just make the bluetooth earset snap into the device? That way it's one device until you need it as two.
I also have it on my T7400(2.16GHz)/2GB/160GB/Go7600 notebook. I know how fast it goes ;)

That's only if you have Google's SafeSearch enabled...
(no, I haven't tested it. It's a joke, damnit)

You obviously didn't use AmaroK with her iPod then. My girlfriend likes it better than iTunes for dealing with her iPod.
