He's adding new bases which have no coding to amino acids. I don't see the purpose of this. Is it just for adding a trace or marker in DNA?
All the bases do are code for amino acids and it's the amino acid sequence which accounts for a protein's shape. In the end it's the protein's shape that matters for chemical interactions.
I respect them, you ought to as well... & hope all those "chinese men" with little pencils don't decide to come take your nations' ladies away from you, @ the point of a gun during a war, ok? Other way around champ... here's your info straight from asian chicks. wonk wonk wonk...
I've never, ever, ever had anything like that sent to any of the 9 e-mail addresses I use for home, work, or family communication. Ever. Try checking now, mightyjalapeno@gmail.com.;) I hope that was his real email address because I just sent him a bunch of freaky (but legal) porn... ahh the irony.
I wonder which email address this was: home, work, or family communication?
Wow, so not wanting to see pictures of women denigrated by being painted like cows or watching some dude "cavort" about with a farm animal makes someone a prude?
Well, I guess I'm a prude!
I came here hoping someone would post a link to a woman painted like a cow on all fours.
Until I heard about it I had no desire to see this... but now I must.. and I will not rest until I see this bovine sirine. Her tempting moo-call beckons me!
"Toyota's Woodstock, Ontario, Canada assembly plant comes online in 2008, models sold in North America will be assembled exclusively there (effective May 2009)."
Me, I like Chinese food a lot:) Me too. I was thinking of opening a Chinese restaurant in China. It could be successful. There is no Lemon Chicken or Ginger beef there. It may catch on.
But it should at least be able to play movies via VLC, right?
I just can't seem to lose my XBOX because XBMC is so damn useful. The PS3 native video player still won't support all the videos I use. If they ported XBMC to PS3 I'd cream my pants!
Big deal, I do this all the time. It also helps when you're downloading files via Torrent and supplement with pieces from the newsgroups. This combination works well because newsgroups often have RAR'd binaries that are missing files.
Find a similar package available on a Torrent site and fill in the missing files. Hell you can start the Torrent first and do a Force Check as you add each piece.
Why not just download the whole thing via Torrent then? Well nntp is local and much faster...
Had I known this was worthy of a slashdot submission I would have done it all long time ago.
Those copper CX4 style infiniband cables are horrible. They're heavy and they kink under their own weight which is especially bad considering they have a small bend radius. Also, 15m is not long enough. You can link adjacent racks but if you have a row you have to daisy chain everything together.
At supercomputing Intel had CX4 IB compatible optical cables over 100 meters. They worked fine except there's a large electrical/optical dongle that sticks out the end. They should have a native optical IB cable and nothing else.
One day, thanks to the price of copper, optical will be cheaper and therefore the only option.
The entire stock market is a "peasant bleeding" operation; always has been.
Just like a casino there's always a handful of outspoken 'Winners' but overall the average person is getting bilked while the rich game the system.
Unfortunately, thanks to inflation you can't just refuse to play the game because your money is always losing value. So you're pressured into playing a losing game.
Again, all thanks to the fiat money system no longer backed by gold... America is a plutocracy not a democracy!
This is no different from Japan, the US's chief ally in the region. Why should China let potentially hostile entities own controlling interest in facilities that may have strategic importance for their entire nation? To be honest, it would be really dumb.
...U.S. officials surrendered a growth industry and good jobs, while making the United States dependent on China for critical military and commercial technology...
Mod this guy up he has a valid point. What was 911 taken already? If I was on vacation in Australia and there was an emergency I would dial 911... how the hell would I know about 000?

Take the number of [soldiers] in [Iraq], A, multiply by the probable rate of [deaths], B, multiply by the average [veteran pay to the family], C. A times B times C equals X. If X is less than the cost of [buying proper bullet proof jackets and light armor], we don't do one.
Nope, looks like it doesn't matter even if people know.

Do you think any of those shows are really enhanced by the difference between SD and HD? Let alone 33 megapixels...
Short Answer: Yes
Long Answer: I previously had a 27" TV. Even standard TV looked fine on it. Fast forward to today where I did my research and bought a 42" LCD. At those sizes the standard TV signal looks like crap when its stretched that big (yes even in 4:3 mode). However, watching HDTV is great... even non-sports related shows like Dirty Jobs. I really like seeing various animal feces in HDTV, you can really see the individual hay in the hippo crap in HD:).
Rude Answer: Contrary to what your wife keeps telling you, size does matter!
Well, we're halfway there already. I believe most studios that are now remastering for HD (especially HD DVD and Blu-Ray) are mastering the picture at 4K resolution: Blade Runner being one of those titles. The idea I guess is once "4K" becomes a standard, they'll have this content ready.
I'm confused... George Lucas hasn't already re-released the original Star Wars Trilogy in 4K? He must be getting slow in his old age.

Here's an idea, why not try changing the channel? What's that... you only paid for basic channels. Here's a list of educational and also fun to watch programs I'd like to see someone try to rip apart:
Mythbusters, Dirty Jobs, The First 48, The Daily Show, etc...
Things have changed since the A-Team and Knight Rider...
Oh now that is too priceless. They should do that for people who type "loose" instead of "lose".
I hate those kinds of loosers, get an education morans.
