  1. Isn't this old news? on Researchers Can Generate RSA SecurID Random Numbers Flawlessly · · Score: 3, Informative

If it's about figuring out the algorythm used by their SecureID fobs, this is old news. At the last job during a PCI audit, the auditor was showing off the pen test tools he downloaded for free off the net. I think it was Cain and Able had a tool that did this; as long as you knew the serial numbers on the back (a brief amount of physical access or social engineering) it would report back the six digit number the fob was displaying. Obviously you still need the other parts of the credentials, but the algorithm used by the fob was already broken.

When I was in elementary school and day dream, my dad would tell me that I needed to "stop going to 'la la land'".He would even mockingly imitate me in "la la land" in the most obnoxious manner possible. This is one of the many BS things my parents did to me and my dad really doesn't get why our relationship is always on pins and needles. My mom OTOH doesn't realize our relationship is on pins and needles and copes with her own undiagnosed ADHD with a 2 liter diet soda everyday. My dad going diagnosed with ADD a few years ago and is completely ashamed of it; he doesn't want to talk about it, thinks everyone else must accommodate his BS because he has it, and refuses to accept that it's a reason for the behavior now but not an excuse now that he's diagnosed.

Seriously didn't find out that I was ADD until my ADHD wife told me I'm probably ADD, would benefit by getting tested, and then working with professionals on finding the best solutions to my problems. Found out a couple of years later from my mom that they knew I probably had ADD, but didn't want to get me any help (drugs or otherwise). Instead yelling at me about was their accepted solution.

My future daughter and potential children, I hope, will benefit from our experience as there's a good chance they'll have ADD. Pediatrician has already forbade computers and TVs being viewable by the munchkin; noise from the TV is discouraged as well, but classical music is encouraged. /Yeah I mommy and daddy issues. This year, they approved customer owned SB6120: https://mydeviceinfo.comcast.net./ In the past they would let you bring your own SB6120, but you would have to fight with them and get the right person. Success rates in the past were pretty low in getting them to cave. Most of the successes I've heard of have been due to them proving that the SMC did not work for what they were doing and would rather run their own equipment. On of the big reasons Comcast peddles that SMC POS is it gives them great remote diag info; having your own modem removes that capability. I'm hoping that they'll approve the SB6121 since the older model is getting hard to find at a reasonable price.

IMHO, the terrorists won long ago. PATRIOT Act, Homeland Security, TSA, etc. have stripped away our freedoms. On 9/11/2001 people were use to the idea that terrorists would hijack a plane, make a ransom, and they'd be on their way. No one thought that they would be used as a missile into a building. Sure you have to lease their crummy SMC router/cable modem at $7/mo or go find yourself a SB6120. The down sides are it's a completely different account, your house will get classified as a business address in their DB, their CSRs can get confused at times even though I call the residential number for my TV service and the business number for the internets.

If they start asking a whole lot of questions of why you're not getting their residential service, just say you work from home and may hit that residential cap. If you have their residential TV as well, you'll still get adverts for their residential internet service.

Actually depending on where you live and its implementation it's called a hand brake, emergency brake, e-brake, or parking brake. Sure, it can be used in an emergency, but that's not it's only function nor is it its primary. Using it at speed will negatively affect brake bias and locking up the rear wheels has a large potential to put the car sideways. It really should be used whenever one parks their car. Not using when parking can lead to premature motor and/or transmission mount failures. Readjusting or running a new cable is generally cheaper than replacing those mounts.

In a number of cars I've seen where it's in the footwell, it has a nice "P" with a circle around it. That "P" probably stands for "Parking".

However, Seagate has definitely shown they've lost their way these past few years and I'm hesitant to risk buying from them again.

I was planning on buying some 4TB Hitachis to replace my aging Seagates when the prices came down to pre-flood pricing, but now I'm reconsidering. If this goes through, there won't be anyone left to trust. I hope Newegg keeps the current status quo. Their site is the most organized and generally helps narrowing down the exact make and model of what I'm looking for; even Amazon doesn't have a similar granular search capability that Newegg does. No, I don't buy exclusively from them for everything, however I do buy most of my components from them. They usually are competitive on price, but if a competitor is cheaper by a few bucks, I'll still buy from Newegg since I know I won't have any CS problems with them and it'll ship the same day if I order by that magical time.

I think I'd could get the WAF if there was an actual Amazon VOD client for WMC much like the clients for TVs, Roku, etc. and NetFlix has had a client for WMC for a while.
