And yes I was actually a customer during the merger, and no I won't use cingular, or any AT&T (former SBC) product. So far is "wasting" my money, well one it's not your money so what do you care what I do with it, and two, it's mostly a principle thing for me.

I've got nothing to hide. I'm innocent of any crime (ok ok I got a ticket for doing 53 in a 45 2 or 3 years ago, hardend criminal I know.) So why if I'm presumed innocent do they need to spy on me? If I am presumed innocent my personal affairs are none of their business. Sure I've got nothing to hide, but so what? Don't I have a right to do whatever I want to do, provided it is legal, in the privacy of my own home without the fear of being watched? What am I suspected of doing that makes the governemnt want to spy on me? It's really quite insulting.

Two things real quick here. Was it just me or did you call your girlfriend an idiot? ;)

and two being 22 myself, I understand the sterotype that we don't care. I'm with you 100%. I sat on hold for 6 hours (driving so it wasn't a bother) with AT&T Wireless, when I reached my destination I drove to the local store and was promptly told to call 611 (while still on hold). I handed the phone to the guy at the counter and told him I had, and was still (thank God for car-chargers!). With nothing more for them to help me with I finished out my contract, and will not ever give AT&T or any permutation of it a dime untill the day I die. I don't care how much more I have to pay, and I don't care if I have to go out of the way. I'm paying $57 for cable when I could pay $12.99 for DSL, so yes the money is where the mouth is. I'm with T-Mobile now, who has been quite a bit better.

  22. Re:Why does everything need to be tech based? on Re-Inventing Hotwheels · · Score: 1

I agree with you, though I take it even a step further, I don't even have a TV set! I do have basic cable though (go figure it's cheaper to get Cable Internet with Basic Cable then just Cable Internet). No kids or anything, single actually. After I moved to college I didn't have a TV, and basicly cold-turkey dropped TV, and ya I wanted a TV for the first couple months, but after a couple more months I realized that I didn't miss it too much. Now 4 years later I can barly stand it because most of it isn't very good, and I don't feel like spending 15+ min on the hour watching commercials or finding things to do while commercials are on. Instead I read books (90%+ non-fiction, though I've got a soft spot for Arthur C. Clarke), and listen to music (Vinyl and Sirius, mostly). If I ever have kids...I'd like them to at least know what life is like without the TV/VideoGames. I wouldn't mind the watching TV/playing VideoGames in moderation, but I'd want them to make an educated decision about it (When they get older I mean)
