Technically, a gmail invite falls into this criteria.
More often though, with less reputable companies, you will get 5 or 10 variations over the course of a few days/weeks/months because one person gave your address.
"Jane signed you up for xyz" "Hey, Jane signed you up" "Cooooooey, Jane wants a word" "Jane is getting lonely" "Jane is leaving town" "Last chance, Jane is going" "You'll never see Jane again" "..." "Janes Back!!!" "Welcome back party for Jane"
My gmail account is very generic, and is already attracting lots of attention, but the biggest shock to date has been emails from the neopets lawyer bloke mixing me up with some hacker.
Nothing really odd about that you might say, apart from the fact, the lawyer in question happens to be one of the biggest Internet law specialists.
Was strange to see him make the same mistake not just once, but twice (both times I mailed back informing him of his error).
You would think that somebody who handles such matters would be a little more careful about their email practices, and not send confidential material to free unencrypted accounts.
I wouldn't like to do it with an Earth orbitting rock.
You don't know what the implications of removing sizable chunks from it will be.

The headlines tonight.
PANIC!!!!
An asteroid which has been orbitting the Earth for millions of years is on course for a head on collision. Estimates suggest noone will survive.
The asteroid is famous for being the first target of the AviLazar Mining Corporation. A spokesperson for the company said this unfortunate incident could have been avoided if civil engineers had accepted the plan to adjust Earths orbit outlined in the year 2976.
the most surprising thing about it is that it indexes files which are removed from my internet cache on a daily basis... (I have 0 day history, 1mb cache, and IE is set to clear out things on exit....)
I have sent feedback to them, and hope its just a beta niggle, but unfortunately it means I can't continue testing.
regarding the windows search, I ended up writing myself a code searching tool for the specific reason windows doesnt show me the portion of code I'm looking for, if this google version can be expanded to allow searching dev files, I will be happy.
Your right, I thought I had rtfa as well! When I first read this (outside of slash) the version I read never mentioned men only, so I just glanced over it here.
As a standalone CMS it has its merits, but is mostly harmless, its destructive elements are distributed in numerous apartments and basements around the world munching on twinkies and drinking 7up!
I thought cybersquatting was hogging a domain in the hope that the company would buy it from you?
Like if rumours of Microsoft and Matsushita were merging, you could feasibly register Microshita.com and try to extort the real owners.
This guy has just put up some information, I can only see a problem with this if the information posted is actually incorrect or outright lies. Does your freedom of speech protect you against libel or slander?
It flew with the "speed of the wind" and gave forth a "melodious sound."
It would have to fly quickly, playing all the "melodious sounds" without a license wouldv got ye olde RIAA (Red Indian Acoustic Americans) on their asses.

Avilazar stock fell 3 points on the news.

when did they send Vanessa Feltz into orbit?

All this talk of rocketry is cool, and I think I'm gonna start looking into it more, and hopefully get my own.
Thats not a troll, its highly amusing!

I am writing this letter in the hope that you can take affermative action against my local drug dealer.
He has been selling counterfeit drugs for the last few months. The quality of his wares have been steadily dropping now, and I demand action.
When I go out onto the street, I can reasonably expect to purchase high quality original drugs.
Sincerely,
A. Concerned Addict.

Who said no women?
who said no booze?
Really, just because its "manned space flight" doesnt mean men only. We need our seven of nines and our t-pols.
It would be more like Big Brother, with the loser each week being voted out of the airlock.
Luckily on the first series, it will just be an isolated cold tundra, future series will use the vacuum of space to boost viewing figures.

I think thats the icing on the cake.
Being able to say "Yer sure" and not mean it all in the same breath.
Those wanting to block calls sort of get their way, and those who don't want it blocking get to smile as well.
I think this is the best all round decision.
Here you go: http://www.redhat.com/fedora/
But you should note, the virus is entirely run by the users. There is no exploit, or automatic running code.
The user HAS to manually download and choose to run it.
I, for one, welcome our timetravelling anonymous coward posting timelords.

In one breath you "wow" at how cool this is, then you bitch about who brought it you?
if you must block his stuff, do it at DNS, the original article links are all there, and do not detract from the original article.
As it happens, I'm pleased he is submitting, these robots are REALLY cool.
There isnt a chance that one of these was released in the congo is there?
If he was born in our age, he wouldv lived in his mums basement dabbling with computers and STILL died a virgin ;)
I thought *all* police cases were solved within an hour?
