But in Finland, does the word "Windows" mean the same as it does to English speaking people?
Have they trademarked the Finnish translation of the word Windows, or the English arrangemnt of letters with no actual finnish meaning.
In much the same way that "bonseur" means hello in french, to a nieve English speaking person it is merely gobbldigook and would be considered trademarkable?
You said it wasnt dangerous - currently *NOTHING* on my online activities causes me to miss a meal. Having a full blown micropayments system installed and required could really mess with your day.
Ok, something that gets me about everyone that talks about Pump n Dump.
WHEN ARE THEY GOING TO DUMP IT?
I doubt the bosses at SCO are pumping the stock for their own gain, sure they may get bonuses from the company, but direct stock schemes would be illegal? (surely, some1 lemme know if I'm wrong)
this is nothing more than human arrogance. They will not back down on their arguments no matter how much we scream about it.
They are like the kid thats just broken a window - they will cross their heart and swear all kinds of oaths that it wasnt them - until the old geezer from across the road steps forward and tells the truth.
The only thing that dissapoints me regarding this test of the GPL and OSS in general is just how weak the opposition is.
But then a bloody great big fish comes up and swallows all 500 wholesale.
Smoke and mirrors security DOES NOT WORK. It makes it less likely to be detected by mistake, but if somebody is looking for it, then it can be detected.
I think the best approach to distribute the torrents would be a p2p front end, I believe edonkey and Limewire are full standalone true p2p programs.
That way the trackers themselves *will* be distributed, and downloaded from your peers just like all your other music/movies - once you have them, BT itself takes over and manages the actual data.
THe only changes to the original p2p program would be the TTL parameter - Tracking servers go up and down more often than a cheap hooker, and you dont want to keep downloading out of date trackers.
The guy is right in looking for another approach to them, but hijacking DNS isnt the right way.
Maybe in the longer run, this initialisation problem with BT will be cured and brought together in the ideal single app.
damn anonymous tick :@
Couldnt you just hardwire a cellphone direct into the battery hidden somewhere in the car?
Most tel companies now offer location services, so it would be simple to leave it on for this purpose.
The phones themselves are certainly cheap enough, and wiring it direct will mean its always topped up.
Beagle is fitted with state of the art, top of the range Pringles tin....
Personally, I wanna know if they are available in the UK
:)
It might be junk food, but it sure beats cooking
I've just posted links to a site with plenty of pictures and a video showing the bubbles in action.
Take a look
I followed a few more links, and finally found a video of one guy and his anti-bubbles.
His main site is here, and contains plenty of detailed information.
Its located at the bottom of his Pictures and movies page.
The scary part will come when the terrorists use the Alert colors to indicate "Strike now!".
It wasnt such Anti-click, it simply made it less clicky.
You are right though, the click was almost soothing at times, like a heart beat.
Its not just the smell, the Click of death noise from the floppy drives was mental.
Click......

IBM recently brought this back in fashion with their Deathstar range.
I dont think it matters which team succeeds, I'm glad they are all taking part and actually progressing as a whole.
:)
I would practically give my right arm to go on any one of these trips.
I feel blessed to be born in an age where spaceflight is possible
Microsoft want to do this with their Palladiu^K^K^K^K Spywar^K^K^K^K^K^K next-generation secure computing base.
The window frame and cursor over Secured content would make it absolutely clear that you were viewing confidential data.
Scary stuff really, but I for one believe the military should NOT use consumer or even business grade software anyway.
I think its just candy for the bossess of big companies that want to play at James Bond fantasies, and imagine their data is worth anything.
Shhhhhhhh dont let the side down - you were meant to say "RTFM"
Seriously, slash should have some kind of competition for the best comments in each category - kinda like our own Nobel prizes.
I've certainly seen some good quality posting recently, it would be interestin to get them all together and award prizes.
I recommend a flame thrower - it is equally well capable of burning + or - RW disks, AND all the packaging along with it.
Following the tradition, we will hear about this Tomorrow, and the next day, and the next day, and the next day.......
I dont know much about DDOS attacks, but couldnt they simply be the slashdot effect - 1000's of us all checking and rechecking the server?
They cant really blame us - I'm reminded of the old tale of the boy who cried wolf....
pahhhhhh u spelling/grammar monster :P

i'm full of a cold, and besides, do you correct people when they make mistakes when talking on the phone?
Everybody makes mistakes - we are of course only human
