Technically, without fully signed messages, theres no way a business can determine if YOU signed up for a mailing list or if somebody else did it for you. There is no way round this with current practices.
Components inside a TV/monitor can become suseptable to harmonic whining. If I turn on our big tv with it set to 16/9 mode it whines at us, the easiest way to stop it is by changing the display frequency (to cine or some other variation).
My computer monitor is also susceptable to running at 800*600 at around 80hz. I noticed this when playing games, in the end I removed 800*600 from available resolutions (and stay away from it in older games) and my monitor hasn't made a perceptable sound since.
Most of the holograms I have seen are flat pieces of glass which APPEAR to be 3d. They have done nothing different, a substrate about 1.5mm thick and storing the data on it.
However, wasn't it Superman that used crystals as data storage which do actually have 3d density?
X replies under your current threshhold can be expanded with ajax now and are displayed in a much cleaner manner (the background is a slightly different colour and you don't lose your place in the page). This is a really nice extension, however it would be better if slash could impliment the modifications on site(apart from the quoted replies).
I mean, however do Internet Explorer users survive without the niceness:P
It would be interesting to know if the new features of IE 7.0 do actually prevent this attack. Finding out it is vulnerable to another IE 6.0 exploit makes you wonder just how much work has actually been done on the browser code.
Yes you are. And creating an account specifically to reply to this shows you also spend too much time here. I'm willing to bet you have another major account here but were just too lame to post in it. Yes, the posting was not grammatically correct, do I give a shit though? There are much larger issues in my world to deal with than giving a damn about how I spell something.
Your sat on a site with user generated content and asking yourself if its worth it?
Of course its worth it - Spending time in a community of like minded people is always worth it.
You have made 38 comments here (relative newbie), theres people with thousands of postings and reading loads of stories (myself included) and spending time here because this feels better than sitting bored watching tv - its interactive.
Not a good day to be a fly on the wall in Ballmers office.
"I'm going to fucking kill Microsoft!" HURL! THUD! SPLAT!
Actually though, chopping the head off the chicken might seem like a good idea at the time until you realise its the arsehole that becomes the new leader.

Then while it's reeling from that we follow up with a car boot sale, a whist drive, some street theatre... And if that doesn't work, I'm sorry, but it's time for the T-shirts. 'Mutants Out!' 'Chameleonic life forms, no thanks!' And if that doesn't work I don't know what to do."
Thank you Mr AC. Your comment is most likely closest to the truth. An exe file extractor allows a EULA to be inserted and accepted before obtaining the documents or files. If they just placed it on the webpage, then anyone could download the resultant data possibly without accepting the eula or restrictions.
Your right, the image of the code comparison was just one minor part of the entire fix, however clearing that variable DID fix one particular bug even though it didn't tighten up the entire codebase.
I specifically mentioned that I hadn't read everything and was merely pointing out to the parent poster that things aren't hidden away.
If you knew that you would be 99% of the way to solving the bug. As it happens, someone already posted a screenshot of the BSD version of the fix.
A single line of c:
t = 0;
Inserted between lines 147 and 148 of file fflush.c appears to be the fix (reset a mem pointer just use above). I don't vouch for it and haven't even bothered to look at context or even if its the actual fix required, however its not like it was hidden and you don't need to get uppity about it.
Incidentally, its such small code modifications that can bring great amounts of money to maintainers of corporate code that the monkeys don't understand what they are paying for.
"But you only changed 1 line" "Yer, but that one line makes it work now...."
Surely they mean outwordly replace IE 6 like Firefox etc do, whilst keeping IE 6 tied into the XP system?
I wonder what would happen if you decided to remove IE 7 after installing it. Or will they "upgrade" it like they do with DirectX and Media Player (ie one way upgrades only, essentially no rolling back).
They are talking about Click to activate ActiveX controls as being a security benefit thats been added for the user - I thought it was because of losing the patent dispute?
ps, the guy talking sounds like Farnsworth, its worth listening just for that!
It does at the moment. Most people still have AGP, and whilst the GPU can handle the phy sims, theres no other available port fast enough to cope.
Besides, I believe the entire article is talking about using existing cards, ie software update. If this can be implimented from the driver, then count me in:) I don't play enough games to warrant the expendature.
OK, if theres piracy going on, wheres the torrent stream?

I do like your options for 2 and 3 however.
If you put a frog into a pot of boiling water - it will do all it can to escape.
However, if you put it in a pot of cold water and heat it on the stove, the frog will happily sit there until it boils to death.

Will I still be able to mark certified mail as spam?
Just because some company has paid to send me mail does not mean I requested it.
It would be quite nice to see little blue ribbons in a spam folder.

I'm pretty certain in context you meant Jack Thompson.

It depends, are those dvd's filled with ripped mp3s?
It could get ugly REALLY quickly then.

In the performance rating screenshot, they give seperate ratings for CPU graphics etc then give a total overall figure.
Something doesn't make sense:
Processor: P4 3.0GHZ 4.3
Memory: 1023mb 5.2
Hard Drive: 179GB free 4.8
Graphics Radeon 9600 4.3
Graphics Mem: 126mb 3.7
Overall Rating: 3
Wouldn't it be reasonable to expect this machine to have a 4?
Or is graphics memory the only meaningful metric?

there was a lot more files included in the fix than just the one.

Why do they insist on putting none executable data and documentation inside .exe files?
During my dealings with Microsoft over the years I've seen this very often, their self extractor might work everywhere, but its not a nice feature.
I prefer just the data.
It does at the moment.
