...or that Blu-ray offers nothing better for the average consumer than SACD does for sound. It's great for videophiles and those with really expensive setups, but at the end of the day it's the same movie at a higher cost.
Agreed. Was going to post the same thing:P
The cost to get decent benefit out of the upgraded sound and video is just exorbitant.
Driverless trucks? That won't make production, at least on the American interstate system. I know it's being trialled in mines around the place. Would take a *lot* of work before you allow that on highways, but it's not impossible.
I can not believe that technology is making the difference here. I think truckers are getting screwed. It's the same in Australia, initially a lot of companies had contracts with oil companies etc but those are being renegotiated and the smaller companies are really struggling to make ends meet. Nearly all profit has been cut out.
You realise we're the only ones in this dead thread:D
Honestly, I wish my PC and operating system looked as fabulous as a Mac. I wish it was as easy to use! But it isn't. And I don't mind it. If the same games I play were available the same time on Mac and PC and I didn't have to pay an exorbitant price to get a game-capable mac, then I would be there!
It was a throwaway line. It was supposed to be funny. You know... comedy?
We all know that macs and linux have a poor selection of games, such is life! Is there much I can do about it? No. Sure I could buy a console, but I need a computer of some sorts for other tasks so I may as well combine gaming and PC tasks all into one convenient package.
I like playing games, and I'm happy to buy a PC to do it. Especially games that are newer than WoW (2004!).
If I didn't like playing games and was rather simple when it came to operating computers I would get a Mac.
Well, hope they bring out Book 12 quickly in some form, finished by someone with talent used to working other peoples universes (Michael A Stackpole?)
I say quickly, because the longer it is left the greater the expectation on the 'finishing' author, and the greater the perceived quality of Jordan's original proposals.
I do wonder if once he found out about the illness it caused him to change some of his attitudes regarding what he would do to his characters in Book 12.
Honestly I would be amazed if he could have brought it all together considering the meandering somewhat maddening pace of the previous 11 books.
I know that in the WoW world, farming isnt so good, but the complaining about the farmers ain't part of the solution, trying to reach somekind of agreement with gold farming companies would be more the way to go (for instance).
Reach an agreement with the farmers? Hell no. I would rather have a way of paying cash for ingame gold direct from Blizzard (actually, I'd rather not), and all gamers on the US servers with an IP address originating from China banned. There already is a chinese server they can use if they want to play the game properly.
Remember, this is a game, a game which we pay US$15 a month to play. I don't want to be beaten by some 13yo who has awesome BoE gear paid for by mum's credit card because I didn't want to waste (more?) cash. I don't want to not be able to sell things for a decent price because farmers have devalued the market. As idealistic as it sounds, I want a game with a level playing field. It's a great game, especially leveling 0-60 and at AUS$20 a month, I want a fair game for the time I put in.
(also, slightly angry at farmers atm for screwing up the alchemy market on Frostmourne)
My brother, when he was trying to live on the US Server on the Australian time zone, used to get up at 6am, play for 30min (play the auction house), be at work at 7am, work until 2:30pm (after skipping lunch so he could finish early) Be home and playing by 3pm, play until midnight. Weekends involved him playing Friday 3pm until Sunday 3am, sleeping a few hours, going to church, come back in the afternoon and play until midnight.
He did it for about 4 months.
Then he did his knee, had an operation and had to move home with the folks for six weeks which somewhat broke the addiction. His/played is 50 odd days on his main warrior.
I played (I thought) a lot, and my/played was 20 days over a longer period of time.
The game is fun, but some people get sucked into the end game far too much.
Once I hit 60, I saw the effort required to keep playing (endless PvP or guild instance runs in the middle of the night) and decided to reroll a new character.
I've never really heard 'dodgy' on US TV/Movies (ie culture) before, and when I say it in computer games the 'USians' haven't heard of it.... and make amusing car reference.
Google is a private company, and they can choose to be exclusive if they wish.
Sure, they run the world at the moment, but falls from grace can be quick. I still haven't been swayed from the position that it (google death penalty of BMW.de)was a 'good thing'.
Pally's do damage, just that it is all comparative.... eg a mage who wears his bed sheets for protection does a stack of damage *compared* to the pally. When compared to hostile ingame characters that are killed for XP / sadistic fun / quests, the Pally can beat mobs several levels above itself.
Of course, my hunter can also do this, but only because I have plenty of pet food to feed it when it dies. It dies a lot.

Good bad or ugly a lot of Aussies are going to play this just because it has servers based in Australia. Hooray! Goodbye 500ms pings!
I played Warhammer Beta... it's alright, fun even. But it's a MMORPGer and I just don't have the time for the grind any more :(
The technologies listed here are pretty old now.
You now have systems where you have one truck with a driver is followed by several driverless trucks. You also can have automatic parking / reversing.
I can't find any links at the moment but I've seen them demo'd at tradeshows.
lol 'meow'
:D

lol xbox
sure if I wanted to play the redneck equivalent of gaming.
"I'm not really missing out on anything at all."
:D
Clearly not a gamer then.
Interesting. I hadn't heard about the Warner stuff.
It's often like the industry is trying to sabotage itself.
I'm loving playing that at the moment...
Good times!
But then you would be in England!
ha! I lol'd @ the parent.
WoW jokes will be with us for a long time.

Agreed, one of the reasons I go to places like Google, slashdot etc is that it is (was?) a generally clean simple uncluttered layout.
Such is life.
Forget Portal and HL2Ep2...
I just can't wait for TF2! Heck, I remember preview screens back in 2000.

Ooooh, 3 digit UID. Better show some respect to the elderly.
Dodgy, some sort of Australian colloquialism (I just know that is misspelt).

It appears the BMW site was also referencing 'used cars' as well as new cars, and redirecting to their own site.
Sounds dodgy to me.

lol, I didn't even notice the grammar error.
I actually meant, why is the senator an idiot?
