This country continues to get crazier. You can't buy a single package of sinus medicine for legitimate usage because of the stupid drug culture and gov't paranoia. I've found that the further Microsoft got away from DOS, the more difficult it has become to fix things. You need a solitary boot up where you don't have all kinds of crazy services running that allow viruses to hide.

I can a fix a Win 98SE system in a very short time, WinXP takes some time longer, WinME - whole day to fix sometimes.

To wipe the system to fix it is like killing the patient.

The Knoppix boot CD has become a great "Bail out busted Windows System" tool.

I used to pick up US Gov't and Russian cold war activity in the 80's on my Commodore 64 using an old tube powered Hallicrafter SX-71 Shortware Radio. The Russians were sending 'Krytogramma' in letter groups and the US was sending non-encoded morse code transmission of missle readiness scheduling. I think these transmissions were a form of sabre rattling. I've heard the NASA is looking into making a space wide area network by putting repeaters in various parts of the solar system.

First off, no one should buy anything from a spammer, no matter what. If spammers loose money, they will go out of business. The media making all this fuss about people being more accepting of spam is a farce. I'm no more accepting of it than before. I'm worn down over it, amazed how high technology has failed to solve this problem. I'd still like to see a spammer get all of his/her messages sent back, of course this won't happen since the return addresses are faked.

The problem with federal based taxes is exactly what the leviathon is doing here. If they want a region to conform to certain federal guidlines, they hold back money from that region until it complies. Good example: Highway taxes and pollution laws. The problem is that bad highways create more traffic jams - thus more pollution a good ole' federal catch-22. A very difficult trap to get out of.
